It is a bit low, but Ive played on some 2GB machines and it works OK. I just wouldnt go lower then that for sure.

Yes, BUT, you need the hardware to begin with. If you have 1gb of RAM, going to 7 probably isnt the best idea. 2 GB, OK.

perhaps try letting windows rate your PC if you haven't? not sure why it would do that if your PC is decent

some games seem to disable aero automatically anyway

I have tried that. I have a Q6600, 460, and 4GB RAM, my comp's fine. Window's Experience Index has everything at 7.1 and my HDD at 5.4.

I think the interface is much better than XP, it looks nice, and it doesn't suck up resources. I rarely have problems with it ever.

I dunno, have you tried turning the windows aero theme off? Thats just a guess... I dont want to asssume though...

That is basically what Windows 7 basic is. The problem probably lies with aero, but it makes W7 look so much better with it on.

No, I was using it for my 16 x 10 Monitor

I just installed W7, I rather do it now when there's no game around so I can learn how works this windows. I just tested BC2 several times and no pop up so far.

I am on Win 7 too. 64 bit Ultimate, and my GFX card is from ATI.

It doesnt really happen to me. I some times get the other variant where it is turned of due to some issues with combability, but I dont recall that happening with "modern" games.

8Gb Ram and 2GB VRam, but it was the same when I only had 512KB VRam
