Well now, as if the events of the previous week weren't enough to lower many people's opinions of Infinity Ward the following will certainly do the trick. The following contains spoilers from the single player campaign and may not be appropriate to watch. If you want to spoil a few things for yourself or see what the controversy is about, continue on.

Personally i think this is awesome, it adds tons of depth to the game and doesn't bother me at all. I think that its really cool that IW chose to allow you to both commit the terrorist act and then flip to the other side and try and defeat the terrorists. While im sure some people will try and make it worse than it is, i dont think there be much press about this.

If GTA can get away with what it gets away with, then this game will have no problem.

I agree its a game but there is also a lot of principle behind it too. You are in essence playing a terrorist whos motivation is to go in and kill a bound of innocent hostages in an airport. Game or not, thats a pretty sick mentality.

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest to be perfectly honest.
If people cannot distinguish between a game and real life then they really shouldn't playing it in the first place.

Many games have similar themes but Modern Warfare 2 is just in your face about it and refuses to apologise. Not that I'm saying you lot are crying but thicker skin is advised.

I thought I felt bad/weird in World at War when I was a Russian massacring the last Germans crawling around, this is definitely worse. I don't mind playing as terrorists, but it felt like it would have been more acceptable to be fighting other soldiers, not just murdering innocent people, but yes, I obviously realize what a terrorist is. I always wanted to play as the Germans in the WWII games, but that was b/c it was soldiers vs. soldiers.

As far as a 'pushing it' limit goes, I said that this series needed to get more 'real' like CoD:WaW did, it made it have more of an impact. With America getting bombed, playing as terrorists killing innocent people, guess that will fill my 'real' meter... :|: But I won't be playing this, so it won't matter.

I was first wondering how this passed the ratings board, but as mentioned above, this is not worse, or even on the same level as GTA games. So if those pass, then this should be allowed to also.

Yeah, I dont know how media or the world will take it. GTA is far worse, in my opinion. This is a game about war and like it or not, terrorism is a tactic that is in the modern era.

I also felt bad about the Germans in WaW, but they were soldiers. Maybe you can walk around the campaign and don't need to kill anyone.

As for Jack, he doesnt like any video game, so it wont matter. He probably already has a lawsuit going on this. Maybe someone should send this to him

Crunch, I was about to bring GTA as an example, but you got there first, damn.

I dont have any "mixed feelings" about this. I just think that the effect is positive, most people will dislike this part and the emotions associated with it so it definitely adds to the immersion factor.

Sorry Chris, but I think you are correct with your statement. This is all about immersion. Though I thought WaWs story was not as huge has 4s was, it did bring into the game with its choices.

Perhaps an effort on IWs part to make their stories a bit deeper, and more than just THE MIDDLE EAST, but imo it will simply be more of a short term impact thing, which they have always been able to do in the past. The overall story is something they should improve imo
