***** is indeed in the patch although it's not in the notes for some reason.

You're supposed to rage, that's why it's called Road Rage.

But all the maps are great with more people (well, maybe not Great Wall), and boring as hell with only a handful of people. You're right, though, it'll be great to play them with a decent population of people again.

It's a 4 year old game, you shouldn't need SSDs or RAID to get decent load times.

And supposedly load times are worse in 1.4 than the original, so it's not completely the users' fault.

you guys would complain about finding $5 on the street just because it wast $20................get over it......were lucky we are getting any support at all.

no game should require a SSD or raptors, LOL. and why are you bagging on platter hard drives? i'm willing to bet about 99.9999% of us have platter hard drives.
there's nothing wrong with that statement, its 100% correct....the biggest bottleneck in your PC is the one piece of equipment that has mechanical moving parts in it, these are pretty large maps for a FPS game, if you dont like the load times upgrade your hardware or raid a couple hardrives....its a end user issue, not a game issue.

How did they figure this was right ?
The MI-17 uses the KORD which has a fire rate of 450 rpm (may default to 600 in game due to rof limits but I am not sure).

              ObjectTemplate.fire.roundsPerMinute 450

The blackhawk uses the minigun, which has a firerate of 900rpm.

              ObjectTemplate.fire.roundsPerMinute 900

I am not sure about the real life rof of the KORD, though its probably not far off. However as you probably know the minigun has a rof or something like 3000-6000 rpm (I think 4000 is more common?) so you can see it needs something to compensate.

Yes and no. If you install the base game with no patches and load a map, the load times are much shorter than if you patch up to 1.41 and load the same map. So something changed in the patches. It doesn't have to take as long to load a map as it currently does.

Granted, it still only takes me under a minute from the time I click "Join Game" to the time I'm in ready to play.

But in the demo and base game it takes me even less time to get in. Like, blink and it's over kind of load times. And with my slightly older PC it's more like, "Okay, time to use the restroom, get another drink, and go smoke." And it's not a really horrible PC even by today's standards.

                Older PC:
                DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert 939
                AMD 4400X2 @ 2.5GHz
                2GB DDR (4x512MB @ 333MHz due to mobo/CPU quirk)
8600 GT (not great, but on par with some of the high-end cards around when BF2 came out)
300GB Maxtor 7200RPM SATA II (pretty standard)

Guys am I missing something, this 1.5 patch is free right?

I thought I would never see the day where Dice makes Blackhawks useful again. It made me so happy when I saw that information. I wonder what the F35B/J10 tweaks are.

The F18C still rapes the J10 though. So now that the J10 is "Changed" (Hopefully no longer so easy to use) the F18 will dominate.

From what I've read from the beta testers, the J-10 is not as nimble as it used to be and can't turn as tight. I was actually hoping they would leave the handling characteristics alone and just make the hitbox a little bigger.

Likewise, I'm not aware of any changes made to the F-35, but I think making the hitbox smaller (while making the J-10s larger) would have been the best solution overall. They would also need to remove the F-35 stratorun ability to keep it balanced if those changes were implemented however.

F-18 rapes the J-10? My experience has been the opposite.

I do agree, that with the J-10 being nerfed now, the F-18 will have the upper hand on maps like Daqing Oilfields and on FuShe Pass.

OSS will be the test, F18C in the right hands could now and again beat the J10, but harder work. Interesting how it will perform now.

Hey, I got the entire BF2 CC for free (well my brother tried to get me to pay him back but I only paid $20 out of $100, but then again, thats how much the boosters are worth here) so I couldnt care less either. All I care about now is getting my moneys worth!

The patch is free to the end user and Stat tracked servers are obligated to Update to the latest version of the game.

I can't wait for the rollout!
