I don't think the load times are a hard drive bottleneck or cpu. I get long pauses at 15% and 66%~ and the hard drive light doesn't so much as blink and the cpu usage is low as well. Can anyone with ssd's comment on whether they get pauses during loading?

Slow loading usually happens during client verification, its different for everone. And HD speed could have something to do with it.

Doesn't the "Verifying Client Data.." portion pertain more to PunkBuster checks, rather than core BF2 loading?

At "Verifying Client Data" it does MD5 checks of all your files to make sure you haven't modified any stuff you weren't supposed to. I'm not an expert, but it probably hammers the hard drive and CPU the most during that time.

Ah, ok.

I've noted that point as being the longest in the loading process, so that makes sense.

Downloaded the new 1.5 patch and game shuts off every time I try to play a new map! Whats goin on! Single player works fine, mutyplayer shuts the whole damn game down, somebody help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
