its really only bad news if you bought the boosters yesterday.

i paid 10 bucks for AF and probably got 10 bucks out of it. So it balanced out.

          You're welcome EA

My only complaint - The blackhawk did not need to be upgraded. The MEC transport chopper did, it still has piece of junk PKM's as it's door guns and they have 0 splash, so why did the blackhawk, which shoots wayyy faster than the MEC chopper also get splash damage.

How did they figure this was right ?

Sure I paid for the boosters but I guess I was in an elite as few other did. I am glad they're giving em away though. Now they can be truly appreciated by everyone rather then a mere handful.

I bet the size of 1.5 will be massive as a result, i sure am glad I upgraded to cable...I can't wait to hit the download.

Fios here... I hope to participate in a torrent if we can put one together

As for those complaining about wasting money on the add-ons, I bought them when they came out too... I also bought 3 games since then that I wish I could return for face value, and they were 50 bucks each... so **** you and your lost money there... you probably spent money on some games you regret as well... now that people can play this new content for free, there is a chance that old players will return to BF2, and not just for those maps, but for the regular maps as well... I spend more than the cost the add-ons at a bar in one night anyways...

For those complaining about the blackhawk: This will not unbalance the game, because although the guns will be more powerful and have increased splash damage, they will not have increased accuracy (at least they didn't say they increased the accuracy)... The whole point of a minigun is that it fires fast, the barrels alternate firing so it cools itself, and since the action is fed by an electric motor, any jams are simply discarded from the gun and the next cartridge is loaded... In the process, the gun itself is not the most accurate thing in the world... If you have ever seen videos of a minigun firing against a hill, it has the shot deviation of an AK held by a 100 pound punk firing a 100 round drum magazine at full auto... I have always thought the PKM and Chinese chopper machine gun have been way better than the Blackhawk since they nurfed it... Even though they fired slower, every shot was accurate and powerful... Give it a chance before you scoff at it... They didn't say they brought it back to 1.0 levels...

I played BF2 since beta, but only on and off int he last 2 years... but as of a few months ago I got back into it, and it is still better than any other game I play (I am only a PC gamer, CS, TF2, HL2, DOD, etc.)... So I am just eager for some change, hopefully for the better, as well as the new players (or old ones that left us) that this should bring into the mix...

And for those who complain about the load times... You have either not changed your computer configuration since BF2 came out, or more likely, are remembering the slow load times of old. I did a new build a few months back, with a 3.2 Ghz Athlon dual core, 4 gigs of ram, and a Nvidia 260gtx, standard 7200 RPM 3Gbs Sata drive, and Windows 7 as the OS, and my game gets to the login screen in about 3 seconds, logs in in about 5 seconds, and once I connect to a server it takes about 10 seconds to load the map... This system is mid-range, and running an unsupported operating system... so...

They changed the 2 gig limit, so does this mean bf2 will lag less of you have 2 and up?

This must of been what the "Office Politics" delay were about, Perhaps a little gift for having to put up with 1943's pc delay.

Either way this will keep BF2 strong for many years now, the booster packs have great maps that nobody, untill now, played.

You people complaining about the boosters being free need to think about that for a minute. Do you all complain every time a game gets older and goes down on price? You all should be complaining that you can buy it all for $20 when those that got into the game from the start, with booster packs, put in $70. Worse yet, if you got SF, you add another $30 to $40 on top of that.

It is a good move. It will bring some players back and have some more AF/SF servers to pick from. Now that this has happened everyone has forgotten about BF:H, BF3, and BF1943 for PC :yay:

Great news! Sooooooo glad to hear this news. The boosters were some of the BEST maps for BF2 and now everyone can enjoy them. :)
