      Call of Duty 2 (2005)
      Call of Duty 3 (2006)
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007)
Call of Duty: World at War (2008)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)

For the Madden of FPS'? Don't think $70CAD is worth it on PC, or console for that matter. Activision is really pulling some bad stuff with this one. Plus, if people buy into this with the grand "oh, it's only $x more," what's to stop future top-sellers from doing the same price hike, raising the price for every game?

Re: Will You Boycott MW2 if the Price Doesn't Go Back to Normal?

Activision is really getting on my nerves now (Now if I think about it, it has been getting on the nerves of almost everyone)

Modern Warfare 1 was great, but not a masterpiece like almost everyone said (A bit generic for me) but raising the price to this level is like an insult for the players, and more funny, it's gonna be like... I dunno, the same that two years ago? Only with new weapons and stages, but almost everything stay the same.
Now, for the night vision goggles.... I'ts embarrasing... Whats the point on that? Oh, yeah, suck every $ we have. The prestige edition is more like dis-prestige or something...

Activision is going to have a bad year. First, the rumors about not supporting PS3 anymore, the Brutal Legend lawsuit, now this... Go on, we have 3 reasons to boycott you, if you have anything to say, say it now Activision.

I HOPE that MW2 doesn't win any GOTY awards or somthing, and just be a... regular game. A passable one.... really.

Now, for an idiot commentary, would you imagine a GH with Modern Warfare skin? LOL

I think it is an outrage to the PC's most of all because their games have always been $50 and now they think they can push us around thinking that we would buy the game anyways. I honestly do not know if I should buy it or not since I am offended as well as wanting the game at the same time.

While I hate paying more than what I'm accustomed too, I honestly believe you get what you pay for. There's no doubt in my mind that I'll get months if not YEARS (COD4) of enjoyment out of the product and believe it's worth it. Unlike many consumer product well made games keep on giving... I'd pay $100 to a great developer to aid in R+D and QA costs!

Just buy the ****ing game and stop whining
How about you just stop your whining and learn to respect other people's opinions instead of all that silly namecalling you're doing?

I had a feeling that I would see a PC Game sell for $60 sometime in the future. I myself don't plan on getting Modern Warfare 2 since I've gotten a bit burn out of the Call of Duty Series (World at War, as much as I liked it, will probably be my last COD game), but future PC Titles may see a $10 price hike. If Modern Warfare 2 sells alot of copies for the PC, then It wouldn't be hard for me to see other developers start charging $60 for PC Titles as well. At the very least I can wait for price drops since I've got alot of PC titles as far back as from 2004 and I still play through them to this very day (call me strange, but each title I buy I play through it dozens of times. I guess I have a big imagination. ), so I can wait a bit for a price drop. But from what I've read online, a good number of PC Gamers are disheartened with the price increase.

I don't make all that much money, so if PC Games start rising to $60 I won't be able to get as many as I use to. At least, on day 1 releases.

Thank you! This matter is for PC gamers and console gamers, it was not to create a split between the two. Thank you for emulating that.

I wasn't able to get to Gamestop the last couple of days, but I will officially be canceling my pre-order tomorrow. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to pre-order this game in the first place as I feel it will pretty much just be another CoD4...not much of a diff. After this mess, I have a bad taste in my mouth and I'll be clearing that tomorrow. I have plenty of games I haven't played yet that I purchased for a reason, and I've also got other games I would rather purchase in the near future.

Maybe I just need a break for a while from the CoD franchise. I can play my CoD:WaW, but there are going to need to be some huge changes in future CoDs for me b/c it's starting to become a bit bland/repetitive imo. Innovation please.

Make sure if you are in support of this, you actually go out and cancel your pre-order or transfer it to another game. Activision will probably consider this 'just talk' unless they see the pre-order numbers start to go down.

Of course not. I can't afford $60 while at university. Plus, I am lagging behind on games, once I get a new laptop, I will work on games from 2007.

And Prestige Edition is not even coming to PC. IW Dont even have valid reason for that.

                          Insane ?

First they tell us they don't like the pirating and illegal stuff. Then suddenly, they will increase the price of a game that will sell anyway. Only by increasing its price u will sell less, people don't like to be screwed =\

Pc Gamers Arnt Gullible Morons who would pay 150 bucks just to have Gen 1 night vision.

I cant wait to see the youtube vids of a 12 year old kid with it strapped to his face playing MW2 on his 360.

Of course it got Perma Locked, It was showing Disdain tword's the almighty Activision Infinity ward. How dare we Question their Baseless price increase? Not to mention it just turned into a giant PC flame thread by the console kids.

This Thread is also featured on Kotaku, its spreading, slowly but surely its spreading.

Dunno if you guys also saw this but the PC now only has the Regular version of the game, Infinity ward CANCELED the Hardened edition for the PC platform.

I also sorted through the Original thread on the IW forums, IWS forums mod believe the price increase is them charging upfront for the DLC's.

That's what I was thinking. Sure, watching the E3 demo vid, it looks great but not a giant step from CoD 4. The change is comparable to the Rainbow Six Vegas series. And that's what they're trying to do, a squel, to stay in the spirit of the first MW. But I fear that this spirit will stop them doing something really innovative.
Now the question is: what about the multiplayer? At this moment, they're keeping the secret about MP but they're reaviling a multiplayer trailer soon. And it better be worth the hype.

Re: Will You Boycott MW2 if the Price Doesn't Go Back to Normal?

Maybe you guys should stop whining. If the price is too high for you, then DON"T BUY THE GAME. That's how the free market works. If the price really is too high, then Activision will lower the price so they can make more money. If their $60 price tag isn't too high, then they'll make a lot of money, and all the people 'boycotting' the game will just have to do without.

That's the free market. No one is FORCING you to buy the game, there are plenty of alternatives to the game. You buy a game because it has the gameplay you want, at the price you want. If not, then don't buy it, and the company doesn't make that money.

So please, stop whining about how Activision is a dirty greedy bastard and they somehow 'owe' you something because of some stupid reason like 'the economy is bad'. They don't owe you anything. If they made a bad business decision by raising the price, then they will pay for it in lost revenue. If raising the price was the right thing to do and they still get lots of customers, then I guess it sucks to be the guys boycotting the game.
