    It really is? Cool!

I really hope this ''boycott'' across the globe and makes developers think twice before charging insane amounts of money for their games.

If their $60 price tag isn't too high, then they'll make a lot of money, and all the people 'boycotting' the game will just have to do without.

That's the free market. No one is FORCING you to buy the game, there are plenty of alternatives to the game. You buy a game because it has the gameplay you want, at the price you want. If not, then don't buy it, and the company doesn't make that money.

So please, stop whining about how Activision is a dirty greedy bastard and they somehow 'owe' you something because of some stupid reason like 'the economy is bad'. They don't owe you anything. If they made a bad business decision by raising the price, then they will pay for it in lost revenue. If raising the price was the right thing to do and they still get lots of customers, then I guess it sucks to be the guys boycotting the game.
Why don't you read all of this thread before posting something so stupid as that?

Your points were already made and they were already responded to. Also, you're putting many words in the mouths of those for the boycott.

I'd buy the game at that price, because:
        • It's Call of Duty - I have all the other ones (except CoD3 as it was only on console - I prefer my FPS games on PC)
        • It's made my Infinity Ward - They've not let me down so far, although they can lack support at times, and don't seem to listen to the community regarding fixes (something that happened a while ago, they listened a little better for CoD4 though)
        • It's really not that expensive, considering the other things you pay for at that price. You're getting MW2, which will have at least a decent storyline and addictive multiplayer, there's also Co-Op too this time (although only 2 player)

However I wouldn't pay any more then what has been suggested as the retail price...

Also, reading THIS article - Guillemot (Ubisoft's CEO) predicts that games will cost alot more in the future. With possibly games being "around $100 instead of $60"

If Activision were smart here they would actually come out and explain why they raised the price in detail, and not let hersay and rumors run this. But as i expect the High Horse riders at IW to not stop doing so any time soon.

$100?!? Jesus, I can barely afford to pay the $50-60 price tag, there is no way I could afford paying $100 for every PC title. Of course, watch the Activision trolls tell me that I am being too cheap because I can't afford to pay that high of a price. :/

That's just speculation/prediction from the Ubisoft CEO though, I doubt they would be sell games at that high a price... and he was talking about console games too, not the PC versions...

Re: Will You Boycott MW2 if the Price Doesn't Go Back to Normal?

None of the places i have checked in Norway and UK have changed the prices for MV2. In fact, one store have it on sale this week. So MW2 is actually cheaper now, compared to when MW1 was new.
If the price in your local store is to much, just buy it on Play.com(free shipping) or something.

After everyone watches this, ask yourself if you need to reconsider your current stance on boycotting MW2. If I even had a leaning to boycott it, it's gone now. If this was Treyarch's product, I would be very cautious, but seeing as it's Infinity Ward... I trust them to do right by me, and I trust that the extra money was/will be, put to good use.

You watch a single video of short clips of mp gameplay, clips lasting no longer than 5 seconds at a time, and you get down on your hands and knees and bow down to the game?

Also, the bolded part of your post shows that you would've bought MW2 anyway, even if you said you were going to boycott it. It shows that you're an IW fanboy, that you "trust them to do right".

I was going to buy it anyway before the MP trailer was released, but now I definitely know I'm buying.

First, simma down, I don't believe blaspheming God was necessary. Second, Treyarch has done a great job. They had a rocky start with CoD:WaW, but IW had a hard start with CoD4 also, but people forget that. Need we say that Treyarch has given the PC 3 free map packs instead of 1 from IW? They've done a great job interacting with the community and I look forward to their next game...if it's not overpriced.

Also, that vid is not that impressive imo. It looks to be the same clusterbeep that is most of the CoD4 servers that remain. Nade and RnG fest.

I'm choosing to remain in my previously said state of optimism. The story and multiplayer have attracted me to remain on the purchase side as I am willing to see what happens next. I'm not blaming infinity ward for the price increase as my theory is that this may be activisions doing, nor am I sure If it affects the southern region (unless there is something I have missed in this thread). I partially support the boycott however, as I would like the community of TGN to acheive changing the desicion of a company (not sarcastic). I do hope that Irony doesn't fail us and Activision/infinity ward take it as ungratefulness and stop making games for PC alltogether (unlikely, but a scary thought).

I have to agree, Treyarch have done a much, much better job dealing with community and releasing map packs free (well, for PC).

Feel the same way. I never had much fun in cod4 mp. I still have flashbacks of all the nades.

SP will be good, but for $60 not that good
