    BattleGroup-Frontlines v1.0 Released

The BattleGroup-Frontlines mod team is happy to announce the official release of their first version. Take a look:
At last the release time has come for BGF 1.0. For those who have been waiting for the BitTorrent password, it is:

    !!bFg-ReleaSe!!1.0
This release concentrates on the Eastern Front, 1941 to 1943 - later releases will extend this to the end of the War, and to other theatres and armies. The following 14 maps are included (about half with singleplayer support, marked *):

    Dnieper River
    Mekensievy Gory*
Kharkov (converted from DICE`s BF42 map)*
    Operation Citadel*
Kursk (converted from DICE`s BF42 map)*
    Borisovka Bahnstation
    Crossing the Dnjepr 1943
    Day of Barbarossa*
    On The Road To Stalingrad
    Rostov Industry
    Spartakus Industry*
    Strike At Memel River
    The Way East
    Uman Pocket

There is also a huge amount of new content, including 500+ new statics, new player models and kits, and vehicles. There are about 40 land vehicles (including the Kubelwagen, Panzer III and IV and the T-34 and KV-1) and about a dozen aircraft (including the Stuka and Messerschmitt BF109, and the Shturmovik Il-2 and MiG 3).

Great effort for a first release!! My initial overall impression is positive, however, BGF lacks polish in areas that the elite BF2 mods possess. I expect some improvements and tweaks in future releases. Thank you and congrats BFG on a successful first release and I eagerly look forward to many future releases.

How can I get the mod to run in widescreen? Editing the shortcut to the bat file with +menu 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050 does nothing, and trying to get it to launch with the /mod bgf does nothing either. Any ideas?

BF2 doesn't support real widescreen. :censored:

Well done guys on the first release! Tonnes of content and a whole new experience for Bf2 fans. I have a few gripes with some frustrating gameplay decisions, but hopefully with time the mod will only get more fun. Pity infantry doesn't even shoot at you in SP. I racked up 200 knife kills without dying. MP was fun and as an infantry game its very fun. Single shot rifles are satisfyingly powerful as are grenades. The envionments and statics really sell the theme and are very good. Jump may as well be disabled though as its completely useless. Frustration plus being stuck behind things!

All in all a good release that can only get better with time :)

You have to edit Target & Start in to match your location of Battlefield 2.

                      Target:
                      Code:
                      "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/bgf +ignoreAsserts 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050
                      Start in:
                      Code:
                      "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2"
                      That works...

Finally a WWII mod for BF2 has been released. I guess I'll play this until Forgotten Hope 2 comes out.

You can also edit the bgf.bat file in your /mods/bgf folder with notepad.
