Overall I think it's a darn good map. Reminds me of USI or PR. I too smell a patch. The game still rocks boys and the # of posts proves it. Lotsa passion in this community. My burning question is what do DICE/EA have up their sleeves for BF3? They better get their butts moving cause this puppy is already 2 years old and we got no sign or word about the next installment. And 2142 is not the next installment! Good game too.

Everytime I try to load this map, I get a .dll memory error, and then BF2 crashes. I've re-installed it a couple of times, and deleted all the content under the \cache directory, but still the same problem is happening. Anyone knows what could be?

Okay... you will not believe this....

I deleted ALL of BF2 (and BF@ - SF), yes even all my settings. Them logged in to the EA down loader and downloaded all the updates (Euro and Arm Force) and patches.

I then Reinstalled the whole game, and the EA down loader put in (Euro and Arm Force), logged in with my name, and BF2 reloaded my stats on to the computer… and,

AND the NEW MAP as well!

(I had the map on the drive, but I did not load it... the game did)

Try that, it worked for me. :yay:

ALSO, try maybe... down loading a new copy of the map from a different server. It could be a bad down load.

Okay, Dice hear this...

Great map, but I would LOVE to see a version that has this map set @ O'dark thirty (i.e. after midnight, in the dark with a large full moon in the sky.)

Youve got a fantastic point there, even if they had 2 seperate maps with one set at night and one in the fay, one desert map with the moon and tanks/AT would look amazing

DUDES this is a perfect sniper map! ok, so i may not be able to see people to well past 600 meters. but thats great, because i get more kills closer than that anyways! the thick fog helps hide me, and i can easily see enemies as dark, blurred patches. and they arent even that blurred, as i can still make headshots on them.

the desert is the snipers best friend!

Sorry my sniper friend, you standout better against the terrain on this map, goes with my lighting issue thing, if you know what to look for with a quick scan of the horizen any sniper stands out.

The polygons that the ppl are made of realy stand out on this map, sorta the same way long ranger (600m) sniping works, the background goes simple and so do ppl (can't see kits and the black heads).

I'm back to plain old BF2 :salute:

he's going to have to alter the path within the exe to note the different location, kinda how you would setup a +modpath etc on server side configs.

its a problem that arises when people have the game installed on a different drive,

good ol TBF2 where the original subject of new content gets turned into patch ideas... i wonder if Dice are actually paying attention.

...and where is the down side to that? The map seems to be a big hit over all (except for the Helo Ho's).

Yes, there are may who would (me included) love more from DICE/EA. Maybe, just maybe this one map could lead to more goodies, and there is no down side to that.

ok, well maybe i dont blend in with the desert too well, but i just hide in the shadow of the dunes and on the darker sand/dirt, and i blend in quite well.

hell, ive even sat out in the middle of the flat desert, sniping a running and bunnyhopping medic who didnt know where i was shooting from. he died. :laugh:


maybe its more of the vast amount of identical terrain which makes it hard to spot individual snipers...specially if theyre far away....
