We did our part. By buying the game in june/july 2005 and expecting a continuously and ever improving game, not one riddled with bugs after patches.

EA/DICE's part was to provide a great game, and they did that. It's too bad it could not "stay" great, and more-so mediocre. Open BETA testing should have been offered previous to the game's release, not [insert # here] releases later.

for the record ..... this topic was made by TBF2 to try to make a difference and doing jsut as we asked (when we as a community begged for open beta) and testing as much as we can ....

haha, are you serious? why test when they clearly didn't listen to what was broken the first time. Maybe they should have fixed the bugs we reported the first time, and we would have been a little more keen to jump on the beta servers. Sorry Crazy, you know as well as I do and the track record of EA/DICE since launch.. so don't pretend this will make a difference. Until 'they' make a radical change in their community support you will continue to see post after post of negative comments.

dude i have been doing it ever sence it came out. i guess i am the only one who does any testing around here.

Game balance issues are still there so no, take your beta and shove it where the sun dont shine. Quit trying to add **** to the game and fix it for once in your sorry career as game developers.

ITS TOO LATE EA/DICE !!! You never listened at first and your still not listening now....so why in the heck should we do anything for you? You fixed 3 bugs in....good lord...how long? Sorry, your not doing jack about 99.9% of the major things needed fixed, so yeah....as soon as DCON and POE and a few others are released, I will be done will all your crappy worthless Vanilla!!!

I had to be blunt, because you just plain suck EA/DICE, you care NOTHING about your gaming community, you only care for yourselves and the next buck you can make off of us....I'm done with you guys~!

I downloaded it, but I can't play v1.4 anymore: it says I play BF2 with changed gamesettings!

But right to the point, i know its really easy to try the patch 1.4 beta2 once you read the "Read this first.txt"

So please add to the news also a little explanation to the install procedure, maybe this would also motivate some players to try it.

well i just found another bug. when you are AT and you jump then come down. you can fire 2 rockets at the same time. i got video of it to.

Honestly if the game was fresh... before the release I am sure you'd find Ooodles of people to BETA it but it's been out almost a year or a year and it just seems like any other patch to me...

Perhaps with BF2142, if it is in fact going to be a "Public BETA" from the get go, it'll produce better results, but its had scads of patches and numerous pleas for help and I honestly have only had, at best, CTD's which were few and far between... If EA/Dice felt that comfortable with BF2 way back when, then why are they trying this so late in the game. Yeah, yeah they are listening to the community but they should'a did that from the first patch...
I'll download the patch when it's available and I am sure it'll still have its problems, with whomever has a problem with it... You can please some of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time.

VERY valid points and you can bet they will see this :)

I understand where you are commng from, and if it was BETA1 still than i would have no problem and fully agree with you.

The thing is, they need to give us an incentive, they promised that they will increase the number of servers, yet to me, its still the same number. Second, in BETA2, there weren't many changes made, only just the gameplay of IO and map fixes.

All i want from EA is a couple of things to fix. And it does not concern game play just ACTUAL bugs.

1. Fix the HIT indicators in all JETS. The only working HIT indicator is in the SU-34, the rest do not work.

2. Fix the Collision mesh of the F-35. Its a flying coffin as it is, simply (and let me illustrate) because of this.



Fix it so it could look like more this.



3. Fix the Hit detection in general. If they do this, then i believe the missles going through vehicles, TV's going through objects, will iron out.

4. (Optional) Hide the weapon when the player goes from Standing/Crouch to prone.

5. Replace the USS ESSEX missles from AIM9X(sp?) (Sidewinder) that you find on the F-35, F18, and F15 to the GROUND base missles aka Stingers. The reason they miss so much is becuase they are actually the same missles as the planes, not the ground/mobile AA.

6. Fix the invert mouse bug. Where i have my mouse inverted in all vehicles in game, yet when i use the TV missile its not.

All this does not require a lot of code, well maybe the hit detection bug does.

If these gets implemented, then i'll be happy with what EA is doing.
