close quarter fighting, in armor or on foot, is what this game is all about to me. Let the fastest smartest fighter win. Not the sneakiest and most afraid to get in the heat of battle.

You're 100% wrong. The game is all about open ended gameplay. You can do whatever floats your boat much like GTA. If you feel that BF2 is all about CQC then you ought to be playing CS not BF2 because all you're doing is limiting yourself on the amount of ways that you can play the game which is stupid.

One of the pet peeves people have is that they can leave little claymore traps that are instant kills. For them, it's bad enough when a person kills them face to face... but death from a trap? They get more upset.

Personally, I love the class.
