The only word in Arabic I know is "Journalist"... "Journalista"

Journalist is actually "sahafi" <

And concerning the writings on buildings in Karkand and Sharqi they are actually Persian, they use the same alphabet as Arabic.

I don't know about you guys, but the way that the MEC lady who talks about the UAV speaks... ahhh... what a sexy voice.

Sounds to me like "jair in ta hayah, ah doon tai yaaa."

That's I need - a nice Egyptian girl who says "UAV bingo on fuel" right after I plaster her face.

LOL oh too much, loling here til it hurst.

Good thread thanks for the translations.

I know there are some guys on here too that speak Chinese because there was a thread similar to this about the PLA voices. I think HuzPLA is one and another guy I forgot his name both can speak Chinese/Mandarin or whatever, sorry for my ignornance, I only speak Aussie mate!

Its funny cause one of our clan guys said I should try the Oz forces mod and he was disapointed it didn't have any Aussie voice overs and suggested I should go and see em and record some.

It good to see a multicultural game/forum players/members.

Mr Benis could do the kiwi accent and say On ya sux, fush and chups. LOL

Dice did a horrible job with the MEC translations, horrible, however I hear that the PLA translations are quite accurate and good.

If you wan't to check the sound files, check your mods/bf2 folder and open teh zips.

This topic reminds me of a story I heard awhile back (sorry to go a little off topic):

Apparently, when they were making the movie "Lawrence of Arabia" the guy responceible for for writing the Arab lines pulled a fast one. During a charge, the Arabains were to shout a battle cry. The director didn't think the authentic battlecry sounded powerful enough and asked for a re-write. After he'd rejected several versions of the cry, the writer finally submited one that he liked and it went into the film. Little did he know that his Arabian warriors where now screaming "I'm not being paid enough to put up with this Sh!t!!" as they came over the hill.

Since I can't speak a word of the language, I've never been able to prove if this is true or not... but it makes for a great story.

Interesting fact about a great movie that I last saw almost 20 years ago. Maybe we can get some of the Arab players to watch it and confirm the dialog.

he says "hamila jonood musalaha takhoss el a'daa" meaning literally word by word "carrier infantry armed spoted ennemy" but you translate it into "we spoted an enemy armed infantry carrier!"

ever played desert combat for bf1942 arabian knight? Raz (and his brother) did the voices for us on that modification and they were both former iraqi's. They did an excellent job.

How can you be a former Iraqi? You can't change your nationality.

and i hated that radio banter on the iraqi side in DC, and still hate the MEC and chinese chittering.

only prob is i wanna hear neat spetsnaz SEAL and euro force accents, so no english only.

It has it downs, if you have it on English only you won't recognize enemies when they are chatting near you.
