We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
There might be many errors in the direct translation, but at least they gave it a good go. There are bound to be errors in the translations. If I remember correctly there is a 'classical' form of Arabic which is spoken in places like Saudi Arabia or written in the Koran. Elsewhere in the Middle East, Arabic breaks down in to REGIONAL dialects, so people from the same country could speak a different language.
Since the MEC army is pan-Arabic (and fictional), there probably would have to be some form of standardised Arabic that (obviously) wouldn't translate properly in real life.
It is probably a similar situation with the PLA and Oriental languages - I would be interested to find out.
How do they say thank you? Its sound like sukarah yohan, and then you say hader, its means ok or somthing :)
I'm russian my self, and russian translation in SF is just silly, it's sound like those guys reading a theater script, just dosen't make any sense in war, tho its kind of funny :)
I haven't had the mec/pla language on in a while but the one I used to lose it on the most was the MEC female who said something that sounded like "Jerri's busted hyman ...." and some other stuff I can't remember.
BTW, AK, do you like these guys? I have these two CDs. I really like them. If you can recommend any other artists I appreciate it.
errors in translation are everywhere. the only english movie I have ever seen with proper french spoken in it... is the slapshot series (for those who dont know what it is, its a B movie about a hockey team playing in a small mining city. there is french in it because of the goalie wich comes form Québec. the actor is even from Québec himself)
guys just to clear things up....the reason why I opned this thread to to put down EA or dice...
actually they did a GREAT job doing it the way I see it..it's amazing its just few mistakes not really major ones... :)
and I am here to make you guys understand what MEC say in order for you to know whats going on for the fun of it :)

This topic reminds me of a story I heard awhile back (sorry to go a little off topic):
Apparently, when they were making the movie "Lawrence of Arabia" the guy responceible for for writing the Arab lines pulled a fast one. During a charge, the Arabains were to shout a battle cry. The director didn't think the authentic battlecry sounded powerful enough and asked for a re-write. After he'd rejected several versions of the cry, the writer finally submited one that he liked and it went into the film. Little did he know that his Arabian warriors where now screaming "I'm not being paid enough to put up with this Sh!t!!" as they came over the hill.
Since I can't speak a word of the language, I've never been able to prove if this is true or not... but it makes for a great story.
and I dont remember your welcome on USMC ever existed! all you can say is okay. MEC say haather.
Or Shookran Oqadura laka thalik
which is close to thank you i owe you one.
there are a couple of markings that i understand on buildings. Most of them say "becareful of your steps", "explosives".
The Commander for Mec, sounds like a person with arabic as a his first language. He sticks to one dialect, close to Iraqi, or surrounding area. The suadleader and grunt voices are a mix of different dialects. All understandable but not consistent.
I always wndered why a chick is talking for the MEC UAV thing
The only word in Arabic I know is "Journalist"... "Journalista"
Can you tell me what teh MEC say for a Medic. There's a line I like the sound of and I know it has something to do with a medic... I think it's, "I need a Medic here!" If you could put them all down, I'll know which it is, If it's not too much to ask
(edit)

Nevermind, that's the one I was looking for
I'm going to write all these down and say them over BattleCom, lol
You know... since I don't know Arabic, I prob wouldn't notice if they even were nonsence sentences. Well, "Baca. Dirka dirka, Mohammed jihad" I would know, lol Team America
Oh and "Allah Akhbar" I know too. It was on a vid and I could guess what it meant
Oh and just a couple more.
Ainal Moseef: Wheres the medic! (SL)
Grunt: Ahdirul Mosef: Ready/Bring the medic!
Grunt: Saqata Aheda Rejal (Calling for a medic) = Man down!
Ahdir El Asaafat Awallia Ella Hunaa: First Aid Here! Ahdir means ready, but it sounds wierd if i translate it word for word.
Nahtaj Esaafatul Awallia Hunna: Need First Aid Here!
Something I didnt see earlier in this thread, and a little off topic. I would like to welcome all the arabic speaking people to this forum, I am speaking solely for myself, and I hope you come back often. This thread has been very refreashing and enjoyable. A good change from the normal "he cheats, nerf his nads". . ."I know cause Im LEET, I own M8". That gets old fast.
Again thanks for coming around and hope to see you in game. . . . . . .Red

good form! Back when I was helping trauma with Desert Combat, it was always nice to play alongside the 2 Iraqi folks that did the voices for the mod. It was very insightful.
I'm not ashamed to say that I stepped out of line when we were both on the Iraqi team and I quipped "death to the zionist regime!". Somteimes I like to get into character in order to play better =) He thought I was stereo-typing while I said it as a lil joke among tester friends. I felt 6 inches tall.
