Re: The F-35 is a useless hunk of junk
Soup Nazi from MoonGamers? Yep, that's me.
Like motorboat said, I have given up on flying the F-35 for the most part. The fact that both the Mig-29 or Su-34 have a slower airspeed and tighter turning radius than the F-35 means that anytime someone gets behind me, there's literally nothing I can do to shake them off of my tail. Not only that, but the flares don't seem to keep me from getting hit at all.
Also, when flying the F-35 on Oman, I have terrible issues with my missiles not hitting the Su-34. If the Su attempts a hard turn with afterburners, they usually hit. But if they fly level and cut their throttle, my missiles glance off their jet causing no damage. Gunning them down with cannons seems to be the only reliable method I've found to taking out enemy jets while in the F-35.
I've been thinking about trying to get more practice in with throttle control in the F-35, though. If I keep my joystick throttle to 80-90%, I should be able to effectively match a Mig's or Su's air speed, right? If that's so, it would make it much harder for them to shake me when I'm behind them and would give me a fighting chance while they're chasing me.
