Yeah I love taking out dudes camping in jeeps!

Of course, One side effect of faster missiles would be that you have to relearn lead shots and so forth. For instance, I snipe boats with the A-T missile quite frequently on Wake Island. This would be a whole nother ball game with missiles that move double the speed. One nice thing about it being slower is that you can make adjustments much easier. Every try making adjustments with the TV guided missile? That puppy is moving!!

On another note, you do not ALWAYS have to guide the missile. If the APC or tank is close enough, you can most times just pop up and fire off a shot and hit it. You can also guide the missile not zoomed in, by simply watching its flight path and adjusting. Sure you dont have a crosshair, but its always in the middle of the screen, so its not too hard to estimate...

The AT missile is not so effective against tanks, more effective against infantry who foolishly comfort them infront of my AT missile. DAO is bad now, SMGs are better. DAO shells have a tendency to, be used up too fast. SMG is more controllable and easier to use. The trick to destroy a tank in a crowdy location is to seem like many AT are shooting at the tank. Use different locations, tanks are drawn to the places where an AT was shot. Trick the tank, in short. And learn to use the AT without the sights, they are still controllable once inflight without the darn scope.

Yeah only problem is if you are trying to move/dodge/stay alive then you end up unintentionally guiding the rocket away from your target. Yet another reason I prefer the RPG.

I love it when you know a guy is pulling the ol load the jeep with C4 routine and you catch him over and over again with the AT while hes trying to pull off his terroists tatics onto somebody. I hate those guys

Actually, the Buzzer doesn't go off until you see the Players Name, in red preferably. Do you know what I mean? Basically, somewhere in the Centre of an Enemy(Tank,APC,Plane, etc) there is a sensor that illuminates the name, this also activates the Buzzer. Soo, at close range you can hit the Tank without alarming it, comprende? This has been Tested, though not with the new Patch :p

You can guide the missile without having to be out in the open. look at the tank till the name comes up, then fire and duck and point just below the middle of his name and you'll hit him.

also, in reply to the original post. I am a spec ops anti-tank guy. I hunt them on karkand. I'll go along the side and wait till they pass. I then follow them on a parallel course, killing anyone in my way. When they get into range to start shooting, I find an alley that is right behind them, check for enemy troops, run up and plant c4. about 5-10 seconds after starting my final run, I've got 2(for APCs)-3(for tanks) C4 charges planted and detonated.

Just a couple days ago a tank and 2 apcs were sitting next to eachother and crate. I ran up and planted 3 C4 on the tank and 2 C4 on the ouside apc, just as I was about to run a PKMer shows up. Luckily he was holding a supply bag but I couldn't take the chance of him following me so I detonated the c4 and took the PKMer and the drivers of the 3 vehicles with me to hell.

AT kit just allows you to fight back against armor..whether or not it's effective as you wish, at least you can kill it on foot. A man versus armor..of course the armor should have the upper hand, however you can at least retaliate.

Not if the driver jumps out (as they frequently do when damaged over 50%) and gets killed by a rifle or grenade. You've effectively put that tank out of action and you got nothing for it.

I wonder if it would be possible to link damage done to a vehicle to the guy driving it for kill assist purposes. Not applying the damage to the player, but just storing the info on the player. Thus, if you do damage to his vehicle and he jumps out, you'd still get points for your part in making that vehicle non-viable.

I see some problems with the idea... but they could possibly be worked around.

I'd play AT twice as much if that was implemented. You get what you deserve for once.

                            Re: explain AT too me.

The maps are small for Aircrafts and also tanks. That is why the AA/AT is so underpowered. If the maps were big as the maps on Ofp, then balanced AA/At will be balanced. All the pilot has to do is outmanuaver the missles, chaff and flares, and tactics. One hit, then great damage to the aircraft. In BF2, I can fire a AA missle at a jet, and I will never ever get a hit. A heli yes..sometimes. They always get me first. In real situations Helis have been shot down with one Missle.

Same with tanks. All the battles are close up. If a radar where the missle is coming from, then tactics can be used. And also shooting from a distance, like use a tank as a arty. In real life 1 Anti tank missle will destroy a tank.

BF2 is a fast paced game. I mean, you really have to think very fast. In a real life situation, their is tactics, and talk (Communications).
C4s are great for putting down tanks in BF2. Just one alone can do it.

Too many people saying the same thing. there is nothing wrong with the AT rocket or the kit itself. it is NOT meant to be played a a lone wolf. My accuracy with it is better than 40%. Yes i have alot of deaths but i kill alot of armor as well.
For an apc, the top of the vehicle in front of the turret is very lightly armored.
If you can get on a building or bridge or hill and aim for that spot you have good odds at a 1 shot kill. same with tanks. the rear and top of the tank is weak. use the terrain and buildings to your advantage.
I alsio love taking out helos with it. especially on the chinese maps. those transports are like paper airplanes. Ive had numerous kills on them as they are trying to land or hover on a flag. at least 2 kills sometimes 4. The attack choppers ar better armored but are still fairly easy to kill.
Its all about fire and maneuver.

I am actually quite good with rocket. Learn to use them. THis is what I do.

Fire(at tracks), guide in, Prone, rotate to a new postion around the tank, repeat.

Also, try working with a squad, to

                                A)use the multi AT approch
B)Have them plant C4 as you distract with your rocket.
C)Have them distract the tank by surronding a tank, even if they can do nothing about it.

About C, tanks go cazy when surronded, and have your squad chuck granades. It works in groups. If you don't belive me try SP. All the bots do it and they work.
