Re: BattleField 2142 is a stolen idea.
When BF2 was going to be released, people said it was going to be a clone of DC. If anyone still thinks it's a clone of DC, go back and play DC again -- they are completely different games.
When BFV was going to be released, people though it was going to be a clone of Eve of Destruction mod -- which it obviously was not.
People never seem to get the right perception of what a BF game is going to be like. I, too, am guilty of creating a false perception of what BF2 was going to be (I did not, however, claim I wasnt going to buy or play the game.. because I knew I was).
2142 could, quite possibly, be a freaking amazing game. Whatever the case, I will tell you people this (call me a fanboy if you must) and I'm sure alot of folks will agree with me...
I have enjoyed every single game in the Battlefield franchise. I have enjoyed every single major mod in the BF franchise (EOD, POE, DC, BHD, FH, etc). The fact is that the gameplay simply works and I am more than satisfied with giving EA & Dice $20 or $50 for a brand spankin new engine upgrade that will allow modders to customize the game so that little groups that like realism-only, action-only, etc will be able to enjoy the game.
Don't take this the wrong way, but some of you people are getting way too greedy. You go to the movies, you pay 15 bucks to see a flick and chew some popcorn for 2 hours. You buy a DVD, you pay 20 bucks to watch a movie for 2 hours and not watch it again all year. You buy a music CD and you only really enjoy it for the first few days -- after which point it becomes just another CD in your collection. You buy BF2 for 50 bucks and you get months upon months of gaming (like 10 hours a week on average) and then months upon months of playing different mods.
