Maybe something java based and fun to put DICE's name out there? Its not like you have to send the programmers home.

Wasn't DICE absorbed by EA? And isn't DICE's name already out there by having a best selling game franchise? And why would you use Java to make a game unless it were for a cell phone?

Ofcourse they do! Thats what the company have to do to survive! They even have to have to start planning for the sequal after that sequal in case the first sequal succeeds. They need to keep their workers busy or start booting people. The amount of success the sequal gets, will partly decide the budget on the next. If the company stops producing products, its dead very shortly. I dont need an hour to think about that.

Dice an EA are brillant people in my book. They are nice and kind. If you think not go to a valve forum they dont even think about posting " i want the m4 to not overpower the ak" because VALVe WILL NOT CHANGE IT!!! They release a game and sure they fix some bugs every couple of months but not changes to increase fun like arty damaging tanks AA better turning and stuff. I have only seen one change and it was one DOD:S when it first came out they evened out the rifles a little bit. I think you guys should stop complaing and remember that it was because of them that you guys have this game so suck it up and either
A) continue to play it
B) Dont play and please leave these forums
C)Continue to play all of EA's/ DICES bf line.

So please just "count your blessings for this game"

Virtus2 at least Valve release maps for free with their games. With BF2 you have to pay $10 for 3 new maps whereas in BF42 or BFV we got them in a patch.

EDIT: Why should we "suck it up" when EA release a beta game that is full of bugs?
If you buy a car with a faulty radiator or whatever do u "suck it up?" Thats what i thought.

Thats exactly how it works in my company. Your allocated to project X, when its delivered (wheter it has bugs or not), you then work on something else. It doesn't help me fix bugs, and I hate the way its done, but its purely done for COMMERCIAL reasons not TECHNICAL.

There are some projects I have worked on, that I know have bugs reported by customers, and the customer has bought a software support contract to get these fixed. But as far as my boss is concerned, we've got his money for the software & the support and working on fixing bugs does not bring in money to the business. So I get switched to a new project that pays money on delivery. When we run into an idle period, or customers complain too much, then we go back & fix bugs. The programmers hate this, but the boss pays our wages & tells us what to do. Thats big business for you :p

Ah. Yeh. They do. Especially working for a company like EA. Hell, most of the work on a sequal is being done before the first one finishes.

Who made the BF2142 trailer? Who coded the vehicles? The weapons? The buildings?

Bf2142 is being worked on Dice Sweeden. BF2's continued support (patches) as well as the Armour Force pack are being worked on by Dice Canada. If you did'nt realise, that trailer, and the mechs, and the vehicles and maps and terrain and buildings did'nt just code themselves.

Bf2 being patched has zero effect on BF2142.

People talk about mods, well, where are they? Apart from a few minor gameplay mods, there's NOTHING. Which is pretty poor considering that alot of mod teams are working from a base of a few years of 1942 modding.
