I have no doubt in my mind there will be mods that will be more fun. But if you're sooooooo sick of the BF2 engine, why not try out a different game instead of whining about how they should have made a new one? They only have like 3 "games" on the BF2 engine. BF2, Special Forces, Euro Forces and the soon to be Armored Fury & BF2142 (Which is being polished a little more). The BF2 engine is beautiful, it just needs optimization.

That's right! If you up the settings on your computer, you'll see that the BF2 engine really can do some beautiful things

As for BF 2142 copying Quake Wars? Do a little research and you'll find that QW is based entirely off of the BF series

i hate to seem like a whiner, but 2142 is gay and im certainly not playing in some mech bs game.
itll be interesting to see how the BF fans, who technically like quasi realistic, open ended envi

wont stop me from playing BF2 and its mods and having fun with them, thats for sure.

i suggest trying FH2 and bfpirates 2 before buying it. based on experience from bf1942 pirates, which was the most fun i ever had online.

and the BF2 engine wont be obsolete until everyone has 2 gig of ram, 4400 AMD 64 7800 gtx computers or better.

that will be in about 2009. so you guys with those 4000 dollar systems now have a bit of waiting to do.... BF2 is still the best looking game on any system bar none.

Yeah I'll buy it, can just imagine someone like Blazin.UK buying it as soon as it hits stores, installing and playing for like 3 days straight to get the lead on the leaderboard.

That is exactly what came to my mind. But think about this. Once you reach #1, you have to play ALL THE TIME to maintain that position on the boards. It is not worth it.

First of all, check out the mod's page on totalbf2 and check out first strike, US interventions or Point of Existence and then tell me that they don't look fun. Secondly, I never said that i was sick of the bf2 engine, infact i think that it's one of the best. But i dont agree about having a sequel made using the same engine because you won't see any new engine features that would make bf2142 better. If say it the engine was modded and allowed the terrain to be deformed, had weather effects,... then i probably would get it but if the finished version looks like it does now then i surely wont.

Wow, at my 4 day hiatus from TBF2 i didn't find out about BF2142. Wow, it looks kinda lame, it's gonna fail prob like star wars battlefront and star wars battlefront 2. Anyways, same here, play the demo, read previews, possibly reviews too, then i will decide. But by that time i'll probably be still preoccupied with Ace Combat Zero (PS2) and America's Army.
