Re: another proud moment for DAD !

the thing is of course its wise for a parent to not allow his kid to spend hours and hours playing a video game.

But BF2 is not rated for over 16's because of that its becuase of the nature of the game. There are lots of games for kids that yes a responsible parent should stop them overplaying but that has nothing to do with why a kid shouldn't be playing bf2.

Its the same reason a kid shouldn't be allowed to look at hardcore porn and violent movies meant for adults.

Wtf... Are you saying that just because it's easier to die in a tank, it takes more skill... All you have to do in a tank is aim and fire, jets are a totally different case.

we play with a good clan
the game teaches dynamic realtime analysis
and he has learned to respond to his many failures (in game) as
        well

he is homeschooled, and must complete significant work each day
        4.0 GPA
and goes to HS scince classed
and does about an hour of physical exercise each day as well
also very active in church and other social events as well
and reads at least an hour of novels daily

thanks for you comments - but we do monitor his gaming activity
now - if I could only play as well as he does
he is near to Major and has nearly 500 golds
and has been avg about 3-4 pts per minute lately

        not one word
        not permitted
he never plays unless I am on also
        (we both play on LAN)

        well put
his older brother graduated from the US Naval Academy with honors
        just graduated from TopGun
and is now the Air Combat Instructor for all new Super Hornet Pilots

I was a lowly USMC F4 Fighter Pilot
and finished my Tour as a Major, after getting drafted as a Private

        and btw
he is not yet in high school
        barely middle school

and no, I did not take your comments as a flame
they were well intended - thanks

this one will more than likely exceed both me and his older brother
I fail to comprehend the meaning of 4.0 in a homeschooled environment. But yeah. I onced inspired to be a military man, but what I wanted to fly (su-27/su-30) is obviously not available to me in the states, so there went my dream for military.
