I feel sorry for DICE, especially now that they have merged with EA. It must be tough being harnessed to one of the most inept Gaming companies on the planet. This fiasco is just one more piece of evidence that EA hires only the dumbest engineers/designers on the face of the planet.

Talus I described my problem:

When I try and change my "Gamespy Account Name" to match my "BF2 Account Name" that I use ingame it says "The account name you entered is in use. Please try another account name."

I bought the booster pack too. My son and I both play. I usually don't complain much but it IS pretty retarded that you can't play this on 2 accounts. Heck, I would have rather waited until they put out another expansion pack with maybe a few more maps maybe 2 new armies, even if I had to pay more, at least it would work like a normal program.

I work for a company that consults in Customer Experience. I am totally astounded at how such a big company can be so bad.

This is really SUPERB. An EXCELLENT case study of how to alienate your customers. What EA did that is even worse is that they do this after people have paid!

Someone should really get hanged for this, and be made an example of how total disrespect of the customers, or even just insane clumsiness, has no place in business.

Note that some of you might have not been able to login because seems all of EA was down for some time yesterday/today (depending where you're located). You couldn't login to anything related to EA - tried a few games including BF2 with Euroforce and Battle for Middle Earth 2. Even their MAIN WEB site had a beautiful notice:

Note I was on EA.com, the main site. The graphic said EA.com, and the text eagames.com. That is pretty stupid, but even worse is just the fact of being down, stopping your paying customers from doing ANYTHING, even if it was just a second. Any good technical people would tell you they could have mirrored their servers, reroute to temporary servers while maitaining the new ones, etc., etc. Many solutions. I thought EA made enough money to pay for more than dim-wits as IT Managers.

I've tried everything thats been mentioned and I can't find anything with the same problem as mine...

My BF2 Account is HaVoK
My EA.com Account is HaVoKG2

Log into www.gamespyid.com using the email address you used to create your Battlefield 2 account.
Now, change your profile name to something ( this will not change you name ingame ) that has not been used. Check BF2s, to see if it comes up in a que or something.

Then, set your GameSpy name for Euroforce by goining through EAD.
Change you GameSpy name on that page to the unique profile name.

That did the trick for me.

Are the Gamespy / BF2 names case sensitive?!

My BF2 profile is MOFOSTICKER
My Gamespy account is mofosticker

I try to change my Gamespy to uppercase, EA updater tells me the change is successfull, yet shows my new altered Gamespy name as mofosticker (lowercase!)

My problem is when I go into single player on BF2 and select a EF map to get some bot training, I get the whole "...you don't seem to have EF installed on your system..." WTF?! I have access to online play - just not my OFFLINE PROFILE - I paid good money - If the option is there to play offline SP, why can't I do this...?

As a long time player of the Battlefield series, I say to EA this is a FARCE.

FIX IT...

Anyone any ideas how I can remedy this...?

I have done everything in EA's FAQ, written to their Tech Support about 50 times (literally, no exageration) and yes my ingame name and EA Downloader name match, EXACTLY, but Euro Forces wont work for me.

EA Tech Support are extremely unhelpfull.

This happened to someone I know, very weak technique on EA's part ... Anyone know whether EA will release this on CD/DVD??

Gamespy nickname might be BF2 name but Gamespy name is not my BF2 nickname.

Found that out after looking and this and retrying several times.
