Not sure if shawn will Look back on this page but I have talk to about 20 people on our ts and we have decided that we arent going to get it just becuase of the hassels and bs you have to go through to play. Let alone all your paying for is a couple of maps 2 or 3 guns cause you already have the p90 and the l96 and couple of vehicles. tank is a tank, heli is a heli, jet is a jet. So really you pay 10$ for 3 maps? hk21 and something else???? I love BF series but why should people pay for mistakes Ea creates then gives poor patches to "try to please" us and then turn around and say pay for these exspansion. Someone else said it and alot agree this should have been free, these exspansions are no differnt than someone making a map or mod and they are free.

I WISH EA would give back to the community for that hassels it has created with battlefields in general. Rushing games, Rushed patches and in the end you give us poor results and then ask for more money.

EDIT: Sorry again--- I'm not one to cut up EA or Dice for anything but I just wish their product would get better instead of getting worse.... All manifactures and developers eventually loose everything and everyone and the way EA is going who knows how much longer they will last. AGAIn I used to love EA now.......loosing faith?

Wording is everything when you deal with mass consumers. EA failed miserably at it. I of course thought that my gamespy login was something seperate so I used up the 3 changes PER WEEK that you are given.

Well, I know that now I must use my name from BF2 account. I used a lower case on my last try instead of uppercase. Now I have to wait a freaking WEEK to play a game that I PAID for? Who's brainiac idea was it to limit this login crap... They could have avoided this entire issue with a little statement under that gamespy login field..

(account name from BF2).

Great work EA and Gamespy. In my line of work the next words out of my bosses mouth would have been you are FIRED. This has convinced me 100% to NEVER buy another f****** anything for BF2. I am waiting patiently for POE2 to release so I can kiss EA's ranking system and raping of THIER CUSTOMERS goodbye. The worst customer support I have EVER seen with ANYTHING!!! Morons.

Shawn, not only is there a limit of 3 changes per week but it's 3 attempts per week. Attempting to change it to a nick that doesn't exist counts as a try.

I'm fairly sure I have the wrong username in then, silly me, when it asked for a GameSpy username, thats actually what I gave it.

So, now as I try and run the EA Downloader it gives me a error box with 'Core' in the title and big red cross inside it. What Can I do?

Can the pack be downloaded seperatly anywhere?

At the end of my purchase, they ask for your Gamespy nick name. I put in the one that I use for BF2, and my purchase was completed. However, I have a different log-in for the EA downloader. Does this matter? It worked for SF when I downloaded that POS.

EA customer support has yet to even acknowledge that this is a problem either on the phone or via email.

SO Shawn, explain to me why EA chose this path instead of the following:
EA DOwnloader, ok, it downloads the game directly to your desktop as a zip or other compressed file. You are Emailed a key code, just like BF2/SF, you install the game and enter your keycode, just as you would for the other 2 games. This makes the installer portable, but still secure. In my opinion EA has made one bad decision after another when it come to BF2, if you are trying to get people to stop buying this game, you are on the right track. I am soo ****ed at EA right now I cannot even look at the BF2 icon on my desktop without throwing up in my mouth a little bit. 60 days and counting until GR:AW! Then, bye bye BF2. I am done with EA. I have been a supporter of EA up until now, but this retarded installer issue seems to define the root of EA's problem. Poorly worded instructions, poorly worded troubleshooting instructions, and a one week lockout when trying to fix the problem caused by poorly worded instructions using poorly worded instructions.

My nick and Gamespy ID match...

Even went through the motions of changing it just for kicks... no luck - still can't play.

Anybody got any ideas?

Otherwise I guess I wasted 10 bucks...

Is it the actual account name of the character you make in BF2? So if I have 5 guys now I can pick one to make active in EURO forces?

Oh for gods sake, i wish i would of checked this thread before i typed int the info.

On the double field, it said type in your Game Spy login name etc, well when you log into Game Spy's website, you use your email address and password.........

So in that double field, i typed in my email address, the same email address is registerd to my gamespy id and BF2 account etc..

But at least i can change it, just gonna get a 3week lock out.
