You mean "Clays CAN be fired by a human held trigger"? In this game it's not that. BF2 clays are clearly being wire-triggered or at least trying to be ones. I don't remember a trigger you could set up to detonate where ever an enemy would approach. On the other hand, I don't remember an claymore that will do harm equally in every direction. Yes, BF2 isn't realistic, but I don't believe that anyone is actually surprised, eh?

But now it has gotton even worse.

The identify friend or foe mines and claymores feature is really stupid. Mines and claymores are not that high tech :hmm: They should detonate no matter who it is that rolls over one or walks near one, good guy or bad guy.

And the idea that an engineer can defuse a claymore? come on! He should'nt even be able to get close enough to it to defuse it :|:

BF2 has become more of an arcade game than a modern combat strategy FPS game.

I do agree that claymores and AT mines have gotten cheesey in the new patch however I feel that in respect to realism, the game has gotten better. No more bunny hoping nOOb tubers, dolphin divers, and bunny hoping shooters. I think these adjustments were nessesary. The only thing I would change is that you should be able to destroy an enemy AT mine and claymore with grenades and that sort.

They need to balance the claymores. It is SOOOO easy to get kills with them now. I would know I played sniper a lot before and after the patch. It was annoying when you got Tk's, but now it is tooo easy. For example, one sniper can make the hotel flag at Karkand impossible to cap by infantry. Put one claymore by the ladder and one by the stairs.

What they should do is make claymores explode when teammates run into them, but not kill them. So basically your claymore is gone, but you don't get a TK. This would stop people from putting them in high traffic areas, but still allow you to not worry about getting a TK.

the tk changes were put in place to keep us from killing eachother, i would be fine with those weapons blowing up teammates under two conditions, one, when a teammates dies from it, he is "no more", and two, mines are destructable.

um, you know you can aproch from directly behind an enemy claymore right. combat enginieers can disable many many types of explosives irl, its a damn good idea.

i think the term you are looking for is simulator, and no bf2 was never meant to be a simulator, its supposed to be arcade. from the few things you listed, its not even a substantial change in gameplay, go away, this thread is pointless.

Engineers and SPEC OPs should be able to defuse a mine or a claymore. If you want reality, then the claymores should be trip wired or underground pressure switches or manually fired like they are in real life. Nearly all combat troops are trained to defuse claymores and land mines. Most landmines are easy unless they have been booby trapped with AP mines or grenades.
