I was in a JSF all night tonight, getting ****ed off... ruining my k/d... etc .. and then I said.. "what the hell?" and I went to the Chinese the next round.

Needless to say.. I beat my highest kill streak, and had 0 deaths.

It's for a balance reason I suppose, it's the only advantage the Chinese have really. LAV, Linebacker...BlackHawk and so on.

On wake... whoever has the best pilots, wins.. but now... no matter how good you are, a J-10 WILL kill you, unless there are none in the air and you keep blowing them up before they get off the ground.

I know some people won't agree, but in BF2, if you're flying against a faster plane, and with the missiles the way they are now, all the J10 pilot needs to do is slow down a little. Let the F35 extend away some, and he's missile fodder.
Yeah, simple is nt it? Its especially noticable with MiG vs F35B fights where the MiG is a LOT slower, so this "throttle control method" is forced upon MiG, giving it a huge advantage.

If flying an F35 and being attacked by a J10 which has closed in on you, the best defensive manouvre is to go vertical, straight up with full AB and stall in the stratosphere. Simple but effective. If you're flying offensively against the J10, use the pre 1.2 bomb hud trick and try to get some gun damage on him. If the gun's don't kill him, then let him extend, and try a follow through with missiles.
Theres no speed limit if you go vertical. So J-10 can essentially stay behind you. Ive downed a lot fo pilots who thought that stratosphere is the answer and Ive been downed too many times myself to use this methid. It almost makes me cry when I have no control over the plane, I have no flares and I hear a warning beep, LOL.

On the other hand... At least i do... Have a lot higher success rate in bombing with JSF. J-10 is just too unstable to kill tank/apc instantly with bombs. With JSF my instant kill rate(direct hit with 2 bombs) is maybe 90. What I'm saying is that J-10 pwns in air-2-air, but F-35 is superior in air-2-ground.

Yeah, I also noticed that a long time ago. JFS is a good ATS plane while J-10 is ATA. The problem is, J-10 can be learned to beused successfully for ATS aswell, while F-35B has sever disadvantages over J-10 in ATA. One planes disadvantage can be overcome with raw skills, the other planes disadvantage cant be overcome that easily.

I don't agree, although I play on wake alot, so I do alot of A2A, the j-10 still lands bombs dead accurately on tanks and fast moving FAVs....

I mean, you are right, its not as stable, but if you don't get shot down in A2A, then it doesn't really matter as you stay alive so long.

This way the only way to bring an enemy plane down was with the board gun which took a great deal of practice timing and skill, this J-10 noobie crap is pathetic, the J-10 can outurn at least 5 out of six missles fired at it and can land a hit on a JSF everytime unless it flares.

I even managed to out manuvere 8 missles from the essex in a J-10 tonight without using flares using the left right spiral looping method which in a J-10 fools any missile easily.

So on one hand we have a plane which can out manuvere S2A and A2A and with this capability it can also land a missile on a JSF with ease

On the other hand we have the JSF more commonly known as the IGLA magnet which cant outurn a missile to save its life, and with its poor handling cannot land a missile for the love of trying.

Spent alot of time tonight trying to get to grips with using missiles in the JSF against a J-10's and i will tell you it only works on noob pilots.

If you want to kill a J-10 its back to the old style of Bomb mode and board gun only. Whilst the J-10 is free to spam all its missles like the noob plane it is and your powerless to get away.
Exactly my experience. A while after our little scrimmage, I logged back into a Daliant plant server as USMC and shot down at least half a dozen J10s. However it did take some thought from me. I had to become a dedicated air superiority fighter, spending most of my time way above the battlefield, zooming and booming. The opposition wasn't that hot so it wasn't a fantastic feat. Not much of a problem, I quite enjoyed it, those who like getting in jets for big scores and "bombing stuff", won't be happy playing that way because it costs you dozens of points.
Chris, the vertical with afterburner technique works extremely well, but only if the J10 pilot is close on you. Break hard so he loses visual for a second, then disappear into the clouds. In the JSF it's easy to recover and head back to the carrier for repairs.

You DID give me a splendid idea. I think Mr Duck found info on the mass of the jets. Now what if both jets, close to each other, zoom for the stratosphere. Since F35B loses momentum faster, J-10 may zoom past him into stratosphere more easily. Note that J-10 has better turn so the turn should be used as soon as you reach stratosphere. You CAN gain control up to 900. Throttle to 0. Let nose drop and fire the afterburners. J-10, with its heavy weight may go further into the stratosphere so recovery is more painful for it. Its like driving 2 cars from the shores to the ice. The heavier manevers a bit better (suppose), but on ice it will zoom further with no control.

More often than not that's exactly what happens. A good J10 pilot will not follow you because they become a wallowing mess and are way more likely to float out of bounds.
A cheesy tactic, but the J10 is a cheesy plane.

There is one more. If one gets behind me, sometimes I will just bank HARD (lmao, well as hard as it can) right, then left, then right, and it often loses the J-10. At that time.. get to about 790-810 alt... because they're gonna be looking for your ass.

Yeah, I'm pretty annoyed by the J-10, not so much by the J-10 itself because before the last two patches you at least had a chance of survival and could usually get away without being blown out of the sky. It's the AA missles that have totally destroyed any hopes a lone jsf pilot has for survival. Granted you really had little hope of destroying them before the patches anyways but you had a better chance of survival.

I've played on the same server pretty much all the time and it's usually clan guys or the lone 24/7 professional gamer with the highest possible rank joining the MEC/Chinese team and always, always, always flying the J-10. You will never see them flying the JSF unless they stole it cuz there were no more J-10's to fly. They hold themselves in the highest esteem and they will tell you as much. The only hope I think you have against them is if you have a wingman who you actually talk to over Ventrillo or some other program so you can coordinate your attacks. Even then, I've had lock on an enemy numerous times, fire, and my wingman who is also giving chase will be blown out of the sky by my missle. It's a sad state of affairs. But as always if EA does rectify it, it will be by reducing the abilities of the J-10.

This style of play isn't confined to BF2. All the online flight games I've played, whether they be full on simulations, or arcade style, usually have one plane which totally outstrips everything else in speed and/or climb rate or avionics. Along with players who refuse to fly anything else. In WWII games, it's often a late Me109, in modern jets most often an F15/16. Usually, to get the kill, you hope the pilot in the other plane makes a mistake or isn't anywhere near as good as you. The problem with BF2, is even if you get a perfect, level flight rear aspect lock on a J10 and he has no flares, missiles will still often fly right past him. Solutions would be to be tweak the missiles so the probability of a kill in this scenario against any plane is very high, or increase the cannon damage. Unfortunately both would have ramifications on the rest of the game...

Yeah, that is because the J-10 has a sluggish delay between the signal and the reaction fo controls. Its kind of slow
