Planes are, easily, the most powerful vehicles in the game. If you spend an equal amount of time practicing flying and say, using a tank, you will achieve higher scores with the plane.

However, the issue is not the characteristics of the planes or their death-dealing capabilities. The issue is a poorly design point-system that, along with the equally assinine rank/medal/unlock system, attracts a certain kind of player to exclusively fly.

Those very "dangerous" pilots who pee off everyone else, are the piltos who - instad of really supporting the ground troops in the objectives of taking flags or defending them - fly around blissfully and deliberatly ignorant of what's going on. Their intent is to get as many kills as possible, since that is how you get your next unlock/medal/rank - nevermind the team outcome (once more the amateurish point-system facilitates poor gameplay). As even non-pilots like myself very well know: it's a damn sight easier to rack up kills on ground troops that other pilots - the logical consequence is to go for the ground troops where they are the easiers to kill.

A not-so-idiotic point-system would EXPECT more from a pilot than a ground-pounder. Just like in real life. Hence the "reward" for killing a few infantrymen with 4 clusterbombs, doesn't really impress the brass - nor should it reward you with the same amount of points. It's about relative power-projection. All else being equal it's a damn sight better to have 4 jets on your side than 4 guys in BDU's with M16s.

As for the whole "who is the best pilot in BF2"? The answer is - not ONE of you guys swinging your eDicks around by quating your points or stats.

I've met a handful that are MUCH better than ANY of you - and here is why:

They LOOK at what is going on
They SUPPORT their team where they are most needed, regardless of danger to themselves.
They COMMUNICATE with SPOTS about danger to flags, because they can see a large enemy push.
They INFLUENCE the outcome of a match by PURE FOCUS on the OBJECTIVES - not their personal stats.

Unfortunately, because the point-system is designed by simpletons, that behaviour is not reflected with any rewards.

Well finally that I am unbanned i can reply to this retarded thread....

The AA still sux jets still own If i ever find the AKkitty in a AA or Mobile AA he will die before he can even lock me.

67 - 0 on wake island two days ago with a J-10 half of them from raping the carrier says FIX THE AA biatches, wont be long before we can get back to our post patch scores of 100 - 0 and nobodyhasthisnameyet's record streak on wake of 141 - 0

I just got 76-0 not too long ago, but i have this SS of 64-0, but it was in an F-35B... not a J-10.. thats too easy :)

yeap, and i can still get those ratios in the sky and on the ground, it all has to do with who im up against. but you are right, this wasnt the case pre 1.2, a good pilot was immortal, even vs better pilots.

after watching his videos, he sucks, not even semi decent, and the people he flys against are even worse.

i am one of you, i play every role in the game, i only fly when my team NEEDS me to. as in, they are getting pummeled by enemy air/armor, and need someone that can take those threats out.

Well I dont call anyone a "Jet Whore" .. I prefer to call them "Flyboys" which I am one of them. I still am very good with the plane (Considering I fly with a mouse and not a joystick) even after the 1.2 patch. I just take out all the AA's first, then go on my daily run... Also, you can just do some crazy manuvers going straight up into the sky then turning a 90 degree turn or something to dodge the missiles... Honestly, I still feel very nervous when in the air but I am still goin well with the kills

There are other involving the flaws of these pilots, and PlaneWhore himself has displayed ass-hattery of a high level in assuming he was the best on the planet.. you know, because his jet with more armour than a humvee and a nose-cannon multiple times stronger than a .50 aswell as being able to avoid the (at the time) moronic, slow, and EASILY distracted SAM/A2A somewhat unfairly made him a veritable god in this game.

But now his game is ruined, and see how this infant and his kin sulk..

For the record, I've shot down more helicopters and jets now with both SAA and MAA since 1.2 released, than I ever had in the COMBINED releases prior.

I take great pleasure in sinking the guys who I've known superficially for 6 months as nothing but pilots, who would often end up with either a teamscore of 50+ (implying 50 kill assists) or 50 kills (gunners/jet pilots).

Yessir, the smile on my face when I send them crashing down, even to the point that the j-10's stopped taking off, and on kubra 1 match later, when the MIG and SU stayed grounded, and the Mi-28 never lived long enough to breathe down my neck; is un-matchable.

I've flown for a credible number of hours in jets, and after about 5 minutes of bombing runs and meaningless dogfights I bail out from boredom. How can you guys love this vehicle type so much? I'm sure after the 8th or 9th try there'd be some pretty creative methods (and comments AND questions) regarding my inevitable doom.
