Hmmm i like the idea of a pilot class how about this for an idea,lets say its being played on a 32 man server only 4 people can spawn in as pilot per team either on a first pick basis or on a points system just like comander. this would prevent the whole team from becoming pilots noobs. and when you die it could show you a little screen that mentions the availble slot for a pilot seat? (example 2 of 4 pilot class available.) what do you guys think? i see that working well

what if 4 noobs join and spawn as pilot. what will the other (better players) do?

This is too complicating and way too unnecesary.

well if you clicked on the pilot class first you would get to fly the plane. no one should be not allowed to fly. he would get that chance to do good for his team and when he dies he loses the ability to apply for that class again, for one turn(meaning another death) unless there are seat completly available.

EDIT* if they are noobs they will die soon. its just not possible to be a noob and live after the AA tweaks in 1.2 i think.

i see what you are saying. it is basicaly switching off...but really, if it s a 64 man server, and there are 4-5 good pilots, they DESERVE to pilot the planes. The newbies should stick to single player/16 men maps to practice.

Again, i reiterate, I beleie the ONLY class that has a remote possibility to be added is anti-air. If this pilot idea was to go through, it definetly would not be a CLASS. it would be more of a "waiting list".

yup kind of a waiting list, see we can agree the only reason i say that all people should be allowed to fly is we all paid the same amount of cash. and i do feel bad for the guys that have been practicing on single player and want to show what their finally made of on multi player. i was on the Oil Fields map one night in the F-15 and spent nearly 20 minutes in the thing with out dying. well some one guy on my team said " please share " lol i came back and landed it nearly on his foot. guy said thanks nearly 10 times :laugh: we switched on and off the planes the whole night.

then you create the fact nowbody can fly, only the guys who are pilot from start, this because the 4 pilots are listed from start, and only come free when they die, then there are only 15 sec for shoosing a pilot class, but you must be dead in that 15 sec offcourse and see it's free , so basicly this means , start as pilot and jet is yours the whole round , because you will always spawn as pilot .


This idea is just so stupid I even can't believe someone posted this .

Don't you guys see this is a dam game ?? when you see a jet or chopper, and you wan't to fly , well, just take it and go.

Dude...relax....deep breaths...okay....its just an idea maybe it could be like commander where you can become it any time. you click lets say a button that says "pilot application" and boom you lose your rifle and your now a pilot till your next death. im just trying to help come up with a plan . maybe if you could think of something other than shooting other peoples posts down. you could come up with an idea? and i dont think any idea is stupid it might help us get to a better solution . sometimes people just look at stuff from the wrong angle.

Edit #2* Hmmm would this put an end to opposite team plane stealing? if you arn't a pilot you cant take plane.

Since, I love my M95 and DAO-12, to even use a knife.

this won't solve the TK's for planes, some guys will just TK the pilot, comit suicide and then spawn as pilot or something , or just kill the piolot because they don't ike the fact they are pilot , and there the jets are, standing alone.

there aren't plans who can solve this, some people are just real arscheholes and will always find something to be an arschehole

Stuff the pilot class, just make aircraft queues, where the first one in the queue will have precedence over anyone else after him/her- thats what we need most. And ANYONE who deliberately TK's anybody near the aircraft queue (OR in the aircraft already)- will automatically be teleported to the nearest building- tied up and strung from the structure naked for everyone to abuse and yell "HA HA TKing DUMBF**K!!!" for the entirety of the round.

Also- there will be signs around the airfields saying: "keep clear whilst aircraft is taking off", anyone standing on the runway whilst aircraft is taking off will have the TK reversed on them and be equipped with a d1ldo as their only weapon for the entirety of that round.

i think it could go some thing like this,

Noob spawns in first

Noob picks pilot class (of course :laugh: )

Noob flys for about 2 minutes AA kills noob

Noob can NO LONGER FLY for another turn(equals one death, suicide dont count)

1 pilot seat open

Player X has been checking regularly on the SQUAD TAB under COMMANDER for "pilot seat available"

Player X picks open seat #3 out of #4

Player x drops current kit and become defensless plane whore


Well this system i came up with would be first come first to fly. But every one would get to fly. because no one could be pilot twice in a row unless the seats were completly uncontested. I think another good idea would be to stop T'k for a plane should be, ANYONE WITH A NEGITIVE SCORE IN TEAMWORK CANNOT FLY. that would work for the begining of the round.

There already is a pilot class... sniper with an m95. Always gets the plane he wants.
