Who's running BF2 at the minimum requirements?

Minimum:

• Windows XP (32 bit)
• 1GHz Intel Celeron/ AMD Sempron or greater
• 384 MB of Random Access Memory
• 2.3 GB free hard drive space or more
• DirectX 9.0c compatible
• Video card must have 128 MB or more memory and one of the following chipsets:
  • NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or greater
  • ATI Radeon 8500, 9600 or greater.
• Multiplayer requires 1 set of discs per PC and a broadband (Cable, DSL, or a faster) connection. Internet or Network (2-64 players).

I'm trying to get my cousin to play BF2 on his relatively old computer. I know the game will look like total crap with hardware like this, but as long as he can play it at playable framerates, it's ok. He's got a 1.3ghz celeron proc, 128MB ram, 64mb geforce mx440. He has money to upgrade his ram and vid card, but I just wanna know if anyone running a similiar configuration out there can play BF2 at reasonable framerates. Screenshots welcome.

I tried to play gunner/pilot with a friend who has 64 onbord video card, 1Gigs of RAM and a 1.5Ghz prozessor. Forget the 64 and 32 player maps. Just too laggy.

bf2 fps dropped with 1.12 patch and 1.2 didnt help. So what it says for the min requirements are not true and are higher now

I play with bare minimum and still own.

I don't know where you got the min spec but its incorrect.

Minimum Specification:
CPU: 1.7 Ghz
RAM: 512 Mb
Video Card: NVidia GeForce FX 5700, ATI Radeon 8500 or ATI Radeon 9500
with 128 Mb of RAM

Having said that it will work on all 5 series cards and up.

If you run at the minimum spec don't even try playing on anything but 16 player maps and low detail and it should be fine.

1.8 Ghz Centrino
512 MB RM
Video: ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 64MB

I have a lot of lag, but it is still the best game ever :)

doubt it. Game doesnt run as good before the patch(s) and why would you even play it like that?

I am running an athlon 1800 (1.533 mhz) 256 geforce 5500 and 768 SDRAM. I run everything on low and 64 player maps are a lag fest for me. I do alright with about 40-50 people but anymore then that I can see it. the video card saves me somewhat. I could give more input tomorrow when my new XPS 600 shows up. then I can tell the difference.

I am running it at minimum requirements. The thing that is funny is that my grahics card should not of been able to even run bf2. But I run on low with no lag, so wierd. Tried it on high, and couldnt even move, then medium, sorta laggy, but I rather play on low with no lag

I was at minimum with a GeForce FX 5200 and it ran pretty well with all the setting of low, until i finally upgraded to a gig of RAM a week ago...

what lag???? that has to do with internet right? lag is internet/low fps shuttering is gameplay

Bf2 runs at a decent framerate with everything on low except viewing distance at 100% and refresh rate at 85Hz and I think I turned up geometries as well. It looks fine to me but I really don't have anything to compare it to.

Edit: I play 64 player servers all the time, just start up shudder, used to get connection problems and random game crashes but since the last few patches it happens seldom. I'm on a 512 bit (or byte, im not sure) connection.

look at my specs :), but people are telling me pentium M is really good...so i guess thats why i have no computer lag.

LoL, I have 384 mb ram and some POS ATI Xpress 200 and 2.4 ghz processor and I run, on low, little or no lag, and eat 64 player maps up with just a little lag, so you should rephrase the thing about only playing 16 player, LoL:)
