I was rasied in the presence of video games, and I feel great.
It isnt any WORSE, thats the point who would let a 5 year old watch a war movie??

I have to agree that i think its rather bad parenting to let children that young play very realistic looking games where you kill people (even without blood) My children are all grown up (19, 22, 24) and of course games had no relation to real life back in the 80's (unless you count horris crossing the road ) so i cannot compare directly but i would never have dreamed of letting them watch vietnam movies at that age.

They are of course your kids and you raise them as you see fit, i just hope your not one of those parents that plonk the kids in front of the PC/TV instead of interacting with them.

...... Now back on a lighter note, the word pwn is actually rather famous, it involved a programmer/mapper and a famous game and his typo made it into the retail edition... and the legend was born (although it failed to be funny many years ago and is now used almost exclusively by teenage CounterStrike players

A shiny penny for anyone that can name the game (bonus for the mapper) :)

        Get his hair cut.

I reckon the other kids tease him over it.

          ...

LOL at the parenting experts. So eager to judge video games, TV, violence, et cetera, when they simply fail at being a parent themselves. A child needs care and attention from the parent. A child will pick up the DOs and DONTs from the parent A played video games when I was 5-6 (NES), I think I didnt grow up to be a responsibe human being. Giving a child some entertainment isnt that bad. And anyone thinking that a child cant make the difference between real and game world should get a brain transplant.

pwned is a game slang, its as simple as it gets. Theres no need for retarded discussion whether or not its proper to use. It is used, will be used and its OK to use it in game.

This pic is awesome. I hate kids, mainly because they scare the **** out of me (I always get a feeling that I may break them when I touch them), this kid is cute.

What was your point? That you're immature if you use the word pwned, instead of saying owned? Good way to judge maturity you found the secret formula!

From now on, anyone that uses game slang MUST be immature! You are the most immature one of them all, because you can't turn it into a joke. I have fun with it instead of constantly bitching about it like everyone on these forums.

Like everyone says ADAPT. Because there is a gamer sub-culture, and slowly but surely everyone will be using those words whether your mature person likes it or not. I have plenty of friends even girlfriends that say owned/pwnd/I'm so leet.... and they don't even play games, but they've seen all the pure pwnage videos and think they're hilarious.

Its so easy to "pwn" on Karkand that a monkey could get a 100 points on that level only using his hand and one foot.

Anyways im too drunk to remember my own past, seriously.

I can't believe they have a whole section on that crap. Nobody but turds or sarcastic people even use that slang anyway.

Some of the best memories of my life as a child were watching war movies with my dad. I remember being sick with the stomache flu at 4 watching "Tora Tora Tora" I wasnt scared at all. I was fascinated in between throwing up.
