Once I was kicked via BP for saying 'sh!t sorry' after a planecrash... the other day I got kicked for saying 'đamn'. Ok let it be... the 12 years old dont need to hear swearing but pls, use censorship (*****) and PB should WARN you once befor kicking NOTICEABLY !!!

The problem is so no much the filter per se. I don't care if they filter f**K or othersuch swear words. Don't get me wrong, I swear like a trooper in real life, just try and lay off the heavy stuff online because I know mostly 'kids' are playing.

What really ticks me off is the fact that the filter kicks for ridiculous words. In the last week I have had the following experiences on various servers:

Wake Island: Me and my USMC squad have been hit by a tank about 4 times trying to get to beach.

Squad Member: "Let's not go for the beach again..."
Me:" yeah, that would be stupid..."

*zigzag has been kicked for using...etc....etc...*.

Arghghghg!!!

Another one. I just crashed the chopper into a tree (oooooops)

Squad member: "I thought you said you could pilot the chopper...lol...."
Me:" LOL...nah, I'm a complete noob"

Just been sniper-shot out of the plane by a teammate for the third time:

Me: "oh for fu*ks sake, you wa*ker!!!!"

O.K. I deserved the last one

Make the filter client-side not server side, and save us all a lot of trouble, or at least remove all the words other than the really heavy stuff. I mean do you really think we're all stupid noobs??!!

If the people playing are mature enough for killing each other, then I think they can handle an F word or twenty.

lol.Amount of times been kicked for swearing even when I'm not whineing:laugh:
In every day life I swear.I'm common what can I say.
Then again it's not too hard to use f*ck instead of the F word but I get caught out all the time:cry
I especially hate when they filter "wtf":

I am fine if someone filters out swear words (saying them don't make you cool), but please, give us a three strike warning system. It's hard to help it when you are typing it while flying.

indeed, that's what i'm trying to say, DICE didn't make the game for 12 year olds, but for people that can stand the 'bad' words, its like southpark... you can have war but you can't swear

I believe it is rated 13+ and at that age you are still considered a child or minor.
Spelling insults thats the best you have. Ohh nope seems you have reached deeper into your bag of creative and well founded arguments to pull out the virtual ace of spades with "go play solitare". Bravo, Bravo, you are truely a master debater. Your degree in aeronautical engineering from a "reputable" university is really paying off.
EA dosent force you not to swear on a server. The server admin makes that choice. If you have an issue with the rules of a specific server go to their forum and whine.

I am "for" a language filter. If you don't like it, don't join my server. It is that easy. If the only way you can express yourself is through foul language, then go back to school and get your GED. There are thousands of words in the english language, I am sure you can live without 50 of them. Ignorance is the root of most evil.

Apperantly you haven't got a clue what we are trying to do here, what happens in your server if is say 'the commanders assets are destroyed by a darn specops' is tis line offending someone? it has to "bad" words... can you find them? ofcource not, you don't have your GED, the words are ASSets and DARN

BTW: this is not a good server, it's playing Wake Island 2007 while the name states that it only plays 2 maps

Punkbuster provides the facility to block these words, its upto the admins to use it or not. Your questions should be aimed at the admins not punkbuster. At the end of the day its easier to control bad language with a swear filter than to have admins have to keep an eye on it and punish offenders.

Rather than making a big deal out of it, find a server thats better suited to your needs, theres enough out there!

Having said that i'm totaly against cencorship, but I will respect other peoples servers enough to simply leave if I feel their rules are inapropriate for my style of play or vice versa.

For the record I agree that having a swear filter on a game which is considered "mature" in the first place is really pretty stupid, ok so we don't need constant swearing but if anyone is offended reading the smack talk really needs serious help.

Again, why does PB supply it for BF2? its a game of violence, so a few swears won't do a thing

It's a GAME of violence. If kids are playing they won't go out and start killing people, but if they hear people using profanity enuff there is a good chance that they WILL use profanity outside the game.

On the server that I play they have a good filter set up. It does a kick, warn, ban. It is setup so if ass is filtered it won't kick for saying assets.

The reason for the filtering on that server is that after running various servers for many years we came to the conclusion that if you forbid people from saying 'you tk'd me ****er' or using profanity in general it is a nice gaming atmosphere.

Most of the time people that use constant profanity or biggoted remarks bring down the fun level of the server anyway.

Find a server that doesn't filter words and you should be all set.
