We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
The M24 is very fine and danndy IF you are on the USMS. But if you play as the op. forces then you get stuck with a crappy in acurate semi auto sniper rifle, and the M95 isn't that great for long range, because of the huge crosshairs. The L96A1 is an M24 for the op forces, but it sounds and looks cooler. Not to mention the paper thin sights.
Eh, I prefer the m24, if it is available. The L96 doesn't appear to be better in any way, and costs an unlock on top of it. I unlocked it anyways, since the only other choice was the p3 or the mp7?
Well, the L96 does sound cool, I'll give it that. :-)
You need Special Forces. The L96A1 and P90 where given to SF owners because the expansion didn't include new weapons for the sniper and AT kit when it first came out.

You don't just "receive" them, you have to unlock them. Have you done that? You must have an open unlock slot and have already unlocked the tier 1 weapon for that kit (G3 for assault if you want the F2000).
After seeing a video of CS:S of player running around with this thing, I tried it on BF2. For the most part it works pretty well if you're good with aiming.
Now when some practice is done, I could say that less than 100m M24 is better, but nothing beats the feeling when taking out enemies over 300m with L96A1 and they don't even know where it came :laugh:
It's not actually even difficult, because most of the cases where I manage to miss a headshot and take a bodyhit, people automatically duck since no visible enemy are on their sight. After that second shot is very easy when target is not moving.
How is it a rip off?
You don't get to use the BFG without buying Doom.

So why should you get SF weapons without buying SF?
Perhaps your one of these people that believe that you should get 5 new maps, 5 new weapons and 5 new vehicles every month for free? And what should Dice pay it's developers if that was the case?

And it seems a bit bizarre that your nearing the 20k points and still don't have your knife badge, not wrong but just a tad bizarre.
It's not bizarre that people don't have knife badges. Some of us have little interest in collecting badges and are more interested in flags and winning the game.
I personally dislike badge collectors. It burns me up think while my team is trying to win, some dude is abandoning his gun for the knife.
I think First Sarg is a mark of shame. It reflects someone engaging in a lot of idiotic behavior just to get some silly Ribbon or to get Status. Shameful.
There is nothing illegal about it. Find someone you know and trust that has SF. Let them play a round under your account. Now you can get the SF unlocks.
