You think it's acceptable for someone to hop in a jet for the first time, and through pure luck he gets behind a pilot that has 600 hours practice, get a lock for 1/2 a second, fire two missiles and get a kill?

In every other game that I've ever played, a noob can NOT kill me unless I let him. But in this game, a noob can kill you over and over again and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. If you think that's acceptable, then you have a totally different perception of what online gaming is all about.

Let me repeat just in case you all missed the most important point:

When a noob gets behind you through PURE LUCK, even if you see him before he gets the lock, there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO GET AWAY. The missiles will go through flares, and will turn at ridiculous angles to come and hit you. Anyone who thinks that this is acceptable has absolutely no concept of what it means to be good at a video game. When I spend 600 freaking hours practicing my ass off, trying to be the best pilot around, I expect to be rewarded with the simple luxury of being able to do SOMETHING to avoid being killed by an absolute noob.

      1. SPLIT S. You can dodge a noob by performing this very basic manuver to break their luck. If you don't know how to do a split S, then it's really your fault.

I think I have 40 or so hours in a jet, and last night, in moders, I was practicing with split S in a J10. I purposefully flew straight to let the enemy get a lock on me, for FIVE times, and everytime I managed to broke away through split S.

      2. "You think it's acceptable for someone to hop in a jet for the first time, and through pure luck he gets behind a pilot that has 600 hours practice, get a lock for 1/2 a second, fire two missiles and get a kill?"

Do you think it's acceptable for a person who is playing FPS for the first time, and through pure luck he gets behind the world's best BF2 infantry player, and fires a couple shots in 1/2 of a second to drop him?

I am sure that pro wouldn't.

Do you think it's acceptable for someone to hop in a jet for the first time, fly over someone with 600 hours practice in a tank, drop four bombs and get a kill? The planes have ALWAYS been this way against everything else except other planes. So welcome to the party that is BF2.

What it really comes down to is pilots whining that the game got harder for them. I've dodged a full salvo of missiles without flares and I'm a ****ty pilot.

You know, I found that "flew 600 hours" execuse to be really ridiculous. Even the BEST infantry player can be killed by an absolute noob if he isn't paying attention.

I have seen a buddy of mine, who is really good at CS (semi-pro) getting killed by a girl in a lan party. The girl just learned how to play CS and didn't know how to buy guns yet.

Even in 1.2 if every single missile launched at you hits you then you aren't trying hard enough. Try barrel rolling, for one.

Dude... you really think I would even be discussing this topic if I didn't know how to do a split S? Gimme a break. Maybe you missed the part where I said I had only been shot down two freakin times in six god damn months before this patch was released. Believe me, I know what I'm doing in the air, and if you were flying straight on purpose and then managing to evade, then the only explanation is that you were flying against complete retards.

What's your BF2 handle, I'd be happy to come and test out the effectiveness of your split S maneuver.

And as far as infantry goes, that's a whole other issue that has caused me so much frustration with this game, that it's what drove me to being a jet pilot in the first place. BF2 is the only game, I repeat the ONLY game I've ever played, where I consistently get killed by people who are not even close to my skill level. I've been gaming for over 10 years, and any BF2 noob that kills me, would get completely and utterly OWNED in any other game; be it CS, Q1, Q2, Q3, UT, Tribes or whatever game you want.

If you're consistently getting killed by people who aren't even "close to your skill level", then maybe you should revise what you think your skill level is.

actually, the guy who flew against me was fairly good. He was probably one of those "noob" that shot you down and got you whining. Hell, I stopped flying after the demo (I tend to stop using vehicles/weapons that I precieve as overpowered), and just restarted flying after 1.2. So far I have been doing well and the only pilot who can CONSISTENTLY shot me down is NEXAR.

you know, you sound like that you really think you are so uber 1337 skilled pro. I bet you probably railgun camped in Q3, sniper camped in UT, AWPed in CS, and now you turned to jet.

Well, Mr. 1337 Pro, the last guy who was arrogant about his skillz and talked trash about my skill level retracted all his comments and offered me an apology after playing with me ONCE.

I am typically active on 3guns 64 people server or TNT Karkand/Wake only

It's only natural for you to assume that I'm blinded by my own arrogance. But my list of accomplishments in the world of gaming are pretty damn extensive, and even though it's not really anything to be proud of or brag about, it DOES put me in a position to know how good I am at BF2. It's not just me btw... if you ask fatality or zero4 or voO (these are 3 guys with the best aim on the planet)... they will tell you the exact same thing. In this game, you can have your crosshair LOCKED onto a noob's head, using short controlled bursts, with ironsight, and the most accurate and powerful gun in the game.... and once in a while, the noob will kill you in ONE shot, while he is running around on his feet with an RPK-74, unzoomed, and aiming nowhere near your head.

If you can sit there and tell me that this hasn't happened to you, then your head is up your ass.

There aren't any other games to compare this to.

                            1. those three guys need to learn how to prone. I am glad that the CS style run and gun BS isn't here. What's the secret to CS pro?

you run and strafe, and when you see someone, you stop using the counter-directional key, pop one shot, then keep moving.

No offense, but that mode of playing is BS, and I really don't consider jump sniping (yes I do it too, and yes, a server banned AWP because of my jump snipe) to be anything skill related.

Speaking of accomplishment. If you hasn't made money from your aiming skill, you have no accomplishment in gaming, PERIOD.

I don't even blame you for assuming this, because let's be honest, most people who think they are hot **** are usually exactly what you describe. But in this case you've got me pegged all wrong. I'm actually the opposite, I'm the type of Q3 player who will use nothing but shotgun against a cheap ass 20 ping rail whore, just to show him how much of a b*tch he is.

I don't play for points, I play for competition. I enjoy going up against people who are better than me, so I can learn from them. What I don't enjoy is putting countless hours into perfecting my skills, only to be killed repeatedly by players who don't know their ass from their elbow.

You didn't tell me your handle btw, I look forward to playing with ya.
