Jedi, be sure to learn it through, it really offers more than you see at first. Once you feel that the limits been reached, you may seek for another program. Ive used Adobe Premiere which is arguable one of the best.

I hate to take this post off topic..but i wondered about recording to.
Iv used Win. MM for AMV's, but I had the vidoe in full.
I knwo fraps records, but its in small loops right?
So Id have to string together a bunch of small videos?
Or is there some way i can just set it to record say a whole match then edit it?

Don't tell me you've never seen Top Gun?! Er, actually that might be a good thing, it's Kenny Loggins - Top Gun Soundtrack - Highway To The Danger Zone.

I dont think people would mind that much
FRAPS DEMO/TRIAL version records in 30 second loops where you will have to press a designated key to start the recording up again. There are certain games you can live with that, for example CS/UT/SWAT4 and such, but not BF2 as it takes a lot of attention (but you can still go for it by all means and try).
Then you edit them all and place them together under MM.

To record a WHOLE match you need a registered FRAPS, which records in one set for as long as you want.

Now. I have been given a link to a program I was about to use, but my PC cant really handle the use of it with another game being too weak (512 RAM and 128 GFX), but you could try it out. I urge you to find yourself a full version of FRAPS, but if you cant, heres the link.

          http://www.realnetworks.com/products/camtasia/

Download the 30 day trial version and try to screw around with it.

Im sure you can find a way to get a full Fraps, but since this is a semi-official forum unofficial business dont belong here :p

Re: Highway to the Boredom Zone, a pilots perspective on the 1.2 patch

              planewhore, you are retarded.

the skill, is not getting shot down. in that video, not one guy got on your tail or on ground aa. you were simply fighting a dumb enemy. the usmc needs to get off the deck and and out of the bloackhawks, and just get to shore. not many players can understand this. the jsfs have a huge role on that map, but air supremacy must first be established before finding other targets.

helicopters arent a whole lot easier to kill now than in 1.12, it was still an easy kill, just took two passes rather than one. helicopters arent supposed to be strong, they are supposed serve a roll, an attack helicopter can dominate the ground except for maybe aa, and a transport heli can deliver and taxi troops to the field. that being said, all too often bh pilots/crews get greedy and dont jump soon enough or fly to low to jump, as soon as im over land, i jump.

this skill in which you speak is totally bogus. a hard turn could dodge a missile every time in 1.12 and previous, aa didnt work for ****. even a bad pilot could survive untill his enemy ran out of ammo by circling the carrier and repairing. yes it took skill to wait for the enemy jet to start on a bombing run or rearm in 1.12, before using the cannon, but really, it was a nucence because that was the only option, i didnt even use my missile for the most part. in 1.2, planes have less health and the cannon hurts even more, so if you run out of missiles/no base, that form of dogfighting still exists.

bottom line is this isnt world war 2, this is a modern dog fight like it or not. i do however think the jets dont have fast enough acceleration/deceleration, high g manuvers, blacking out, other types of stalls. and i do agree the aa is ****ed up, but its not too effective, its bugged, and needs to be fixed.

I think that rather than being an idiot with an obvious issue against PW, you should really concentrate on the MESSAGE the video showed. And PW not being tracked was just his own choice. He let you experience what it is like to be on the controlling side of the dogfight and see how it turns out. Anyone not seeing the logic here, the message, just has a personal vendetta or is straightforward retarded. Have a nice day, Im tired of your kind.

I think everyone would be pleased with that change. 4) Air to air combat however is a complete joke, as is clearly visible in the video.
                  1) no they dont, the reload is fine on them, they can be turned on by a proficient flyer before the ground aa is half reloaded.

                  2) do that to ground aa, you gotta do that to everything, everything.

                  3) i agree with this, except if a flare is close to the missiles flight path.

                  4) its not a complete joke at all, its a completly different fight from before, but it still takes skill, heres the difference. in 1.12 2 really good pilots could be up there all round dog fighting, in 1.2, its over in seconds, thats the difference, good pilots dont let enemy jets on thier tails, and if they do, they die.

aa was broken in 1.12 and before, i played both sides (air/land) so i know that its not too effective now, but it is still broken, just in a different way. actually two ways:

                    1) sometimes it cant make up what it wants to do and just flys around you or just in the air, or an oil tower, untill it hits a target, rather than just flying away.

                    2) missiles sometimes randomly go after flares or other friendly/enemy vehicles that arent even close to its flight path.

exactly, and there was nothing wrong with how any of it turned out, the jet is on the top of the food chain, as it should be, only a better pilot, or aa can kill it, as it should be.

Well, nice ta see ya adapting PW.
Too bad all I saw in terms of air to air was you shooting down people who didn't maneuver at all. Maybe the players you were playing with need ta take a look at that thread o mine. :p

Seriously tho... how about showing us you getting shot down. You're entire argument is that the Air to Air has been noobified. If that's the case, shouldn't we see you being splashed just as often as your happless victems? If not, I guess you've got skill and they don't... which kills your argument.

Catch 22s are a pain in the arse, ain't they?
                          :p

Also, that vid was had more action in it that your previous blow the crap outta everything on the ground vids. You made things on the ground dead just as easlily as you're killin planes here... and atleast the planes get a chance to shoot back. I don't see how that's a big departure.

I will say I wouldn't mind some tweaking to the mechanics...
If it's possible to split surface from Air missile code (it's all handled the same way right now, I'm sure), a slightly longer lock time for air to air missiles could help lots.

Another route could be to knock AA missile damage down
and further reduced the armor on planes. This would make AA fire still effective against aircraft, lighten it's empact on choppers, and make guns more valuable for air to air.

                          *shrug*
                          Just some random thoughts.

I'm still havin fun with them planes. System's not perfect, but it's several times better than what it was.

it was way to easy to evade, all a good pilot could do to another good pilot is slowly take down thier health with the cannon, very slowly, a good pilot in 1.12 would never fly straight.

in 1.2 getting behind someone isnt all it takes, if the pilot thats in front has flares and enough altitude or obsticales, they can easily evade. i get hit by stray missiles more than anything else.

and whats the problem, the enemy didnt even try to turn on him, or do anything except flare, they deserve to go down.

actually a good deal of the game has some reality behind it, but you are right, reality doesnt balance, gameplay does, and theres no problem with missile combat.

what you 1.12 planewhores dont realise is that on maps like zatar and fushee, planes have to make a lot of long tips, this is when the cannon comes in handy more than any other time.

To me, the more important question is whether or not Planewhore can shake off someone who gets on his six first - that would prove a lot more. Lie whether or not air combat is reduced to that single factor (I doubt it is). Of course, we'd never know if he was throwing the test just to make his point.

in all honesty the pproblem isnt in the effectivness of a2a, its in the inability for jets to accelerate/decelerate fast, make high g manuvers, and blackout. the way jets are now though, id say just give them less of an arch. i would like to have to lead my target when firing missiles wheather from air or ground.

another idea i had was make flares groups on jets ammo, so a fighter gets three and a bomber gets one, thus making it so you can evade effectively but you must rearm before the next encounter r you ae done for.
