Re: Are you quitting bf2 due to patch?

My friend and I were able to take out the enemy f-15 nearly every time on clean sweap using one AA site and the mobile AA before the patch. The pilot even complimented us for actually shooting him down so much, because we were being smart with the AA.
i bet his gunner was afk. f15 with gunner not only wastes you, and mobile aa, but also all enemy armour on the island in two, three pases, without even reloading. good god, that most noob 'elite' pilots fly alone

and f15 isnt a good example, it is the bomber, not j10..

for the main topis, no of course i wont quit. and i bet that most of the persons that DID quit, are in fact playing bf2 now, and getting their a$$ handed to them. no longer a jump/prone/jump/prone/gp30/reload/jump/prone wins a game, no longer the round 'is lost' 'when another noob takes MINE plane faster than me' no longer entire map flow relies on one man, the choper pilot. and no f.. longer a transport chopper is a flying tank with explosive miniguns!!!!!
what an idiot made it this way.. rifle sized rounds are not explosive.. and you have to hit someone with it. and it is still much easier than with mec choper

oh, almost forgot. good ridance c4 throwers.

No, they weren't. Ever get in a plane and go after them? The problem with the planes is no one would do anything about them. Saw countless rounds with a team getting owned by a plane, only to have the other team's plane SITTING ON THE RUNWAY. People complain away, but wouldn't even get in the air to do anything about it. ggkthxbye yourself if you refuse to use your team's assets to your advantage.

        2. Bunny hopping makes the hitbox go all over the place. I'd love to see you kill me as I bunnyhop/prone dive in your face. In fact I would go 40-10 (5 of those being arty/tank) on infantry maps.
Way to brag on your score and the fact you bunny hopped. I've killed plenty of bunny hoppers before, and I'll kill them now. Just the thing is, now they can't shoot back, this game has gone from requiring the logical thought processes of an 8 year old to a 6 year old now because targets can't always shoot back.

        3. AAs pre-patch were worthless. Only good for TKs.
And still good for TK's, mind you. The tracking code should have NEVER BEEN IMPLEMENTED to the AA. However, using some common sense, you could hit the pilot, or send him running. Sadly, most people I saw would jump in, fire any time they saw a jet, and expect it to hit since it has the tracking code. Another example of idiots using things improperly.

        4. Perhaps you've never played competatively? C4 was exploited worse than anything else in this game. It's a good fix.
lol? Something is wrong when people can stand so close to C4 explosives, and live. That's the problem, so what if they could throw it. A perfect fix for those people was the M203 (non-bunny hopping mode, mind you) or the DAO.

        5. If you quit before 1.2 then why are you here ranting about it?
Thanks for taking time out of your schedule to think about me for a few minutes and bother to post. I'm so touched.

Heaven forbid someone think differently than someone else on a FORUM, a place where people have things called discussions and voice their opinions. Sadly, most "opinions" on forums are "refuted" with comments likened to "lol noob stfu" without giving a valid point to their post other than to flame.

good to see he Quit before 1.2 (edit or was the patch after the 14th? bad memory lol)
That's me. Secured it when the demo released. If you've read a few other posts by me, you'd know I've played about 5 or 10 minutes under this patch to see what people were complaining about. After 5 minutes on a ranked server, I determined I could still kill people with M203's just as easily, the game ran worse, and nothing useful was added except maybe the UAV in the air.

Oh, and if you payed attention to the graphs, I can back that up as from Feb. 9 to Feb 15, the total time went up a whole .2 of an hour, which probably is rounded up. For the mathematically challenge people, that's a maximum of 12 minutes, and is probably a rounded value. Before Feb 9, from Jan 7 until then, I played a total of 1.1 hours in a time of over a month. Check the full story before you post instead of digging for anything to flame people with. And before people want to complain about the 1.1 hours, I obliged the request of some friends to join them in a few rounds.

By your own terms, you just became a whiner who couldn't adapt -- in fact, worse than that, because you didn't even try. Lots of us who are happy about the patch actually stuck it out. I sniped with crappy rifles, and refused to put out Claymores because of tks (in fact, I still don't put out Claymores.)

What did you do, apart from build yourself a nice long rant, blaming the players because they didn't want to have to deal with certain issues, while you did exactly the same?
Why the heck would I HAVE to adapt to 1.2? It simply made everything easier, there's absolutely NOTHING for me to adjust to in 1.2, except for perhaps the fact people no longer will be shooting back at me while they're jumping, but I hardly call that anything to "adjust" to. I could kill a bunny hopper before the patch, and now they can't even shoot back at me. It's a pitty really. I say bring back the Blackhawk flag capping so I have those to shoot at as well, I spent most of my time then killing Blackhawks, because it was fun and a challenge. While everyone else whined about them, I did what they said was "impossible": kill them. I did the same with jets, bunny hoppers, whoever seemed to think they were invincible. The only adapting I would have to do is perhaps adapt to the fact they're making my usual targets easier. Or perhaps the other role I used to play: DEFENSE. Something people rarely do. Only now, people can't come into a flag bunny hopping without sacrificing their ability to shoot back at me. Tisk tisk, I say. Nothing to adapt to.

And thank you to all you people who, despite how much you say I'm an idiot or liar or whatever other names you people wish to pull out of thin air, take time out of your busy day to think about me and my opinions and take even more time to formulate a reply.

Since the entire focus of the game is points and their acquisition, I think it is more than safe to say If they don't figure out how to update my points on a regular basis and quit losing my medals (g/s/b) that I will be quitting........

The only way, I'd be quiting is if EA decides to make the next patch a suppository.

Re: Are you quitting bf2 due to patch?

Well after reading "all" the previous posts I can see why some people are quitting. Its pretty easy to flame them too (I wont, my ego doesnt need that kind of a boost). I can tell you Im disappointed with this patch. It should have been divided into smaller parts and then released, that would have made it easier to identify and fix the new bugs.
If you dont see any difference between 1.12 and 1.2 try surfing the server list and playing 2 or 3 maps here and 2 or 3 maps there. Thats what I do, I always have and Ive noticed a big difference. I dont think it will affect the truly skilled players much but the unskilled are just S.O.L. IMO.
The one new bug that really bothers me is the way some sounds are missing, mainly gun fire. Its just about impossible to avoid, or kill, armor you cant hear. I can still see enemy armor but I always seem to get the same view, looking down the business end from the wrong side. I used to listen and time my attacks to the armors gun fire, ie. long machine gun burst then main cannon shot gives me about 2 seconds to run up and place AT mines.
I currently plan to do like Ive always done, Adapt, readjust, reapply and research new tactics as a lot of the old ones do not work anymore. The one thing I wont do is quit playing. . . .Red
