Re: IndianScout (and other testers): Question for you

OK the problem is, the patch suppose to be for fixing bugs. But because EA and DICE sell the people an incomplete GAME (beta version) they have to change the gameplay with every patch. Instead of first testing the gameplay and shiping it as a final version. And only sending a patch out to FIX bugs not CHANGE gameplay. Every time you change, more bugs come out. So I am happy this happend because you kill the good gameplay every time you change it. EA and DICE make up your minds before realising some game. Instead of realising a full of bug software and fix it, you start to change it and create more bugs. If you continue this you would have to make patches forever. But thats inst going to happen. So stop reading complains about gameplay from noobs that just install the game and don't take time to learn how to use it and cry because they got owned, and start to fix bugs. If you focus the time fixing bugs instead of whiners this game should be almost bug free by now. You still making it worst with every patch. MAKE UP YOUR MINDS ABOUT THE GAMEPLAY. The gameplay should be tested before realisng the full game not after almost a year people learned how to play the game.

After installing the patch i crashed to the desktop 5 times after playing for a hour. It's like a memory leak or something. Playing medic I went to revive someone to only see it was an enemy with the blue name tag bug. Sound bug. And see the magic numbers in the ground. The patch supose to fix the game. Another patch? for what? changing more the gameplay and more bugs ? NO THANKS! Please for the next patch DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING, just fix the bugs please!!!!!

I think there is going to be a hotfix, EA sked to let two maps out of map cycle due to crash bug, this needs fixing ASAP , and while there at it they can fix some other stuff like the disapearing misiles and stuff .

About testing team, I said it before and say it again, they need to get another testing team, the curent one is only braging about the fact they are part of the testing team but do not give true feedback wich is actualy the meaning about a testing team

Re: IndianScout (and other testers): Question for you

Two thngs need to be done a hotfix for the SF server crash bug is a must and the other bugs mentioned by the non ranting ppl.

That being said I think they should setup a public beta testing program going foward on future patches. You can limt it to between 1000-5000 ppl and the testing must incompass all weapons, vehicles & maps.
The process for sure will take alot longer but in the long run things that have happend with 1.2 and other patches in the past should not occur with this type of testing.

I hope all you people questioning them realize that when a patch is tested it is only tested with a few people. 100 tops maybe? i dont really know. But i do know that there are a few thousand people out there who havnt had these glitches yet. That is why they proably didnt find the glitches.
It may be your computer specs that causes it or something else that would only happen when a million people play and about half or more get the problems.

People compained that the patch was taking so long and they rushed it out. Now we all have to live with the bugs till next fix. I think people will make adjustments and work more as a team if they want to win. This may take some time as most people still play as lone wolfs, myself included, but am getting better.

Public testing sucks more or less. The signal to noise ratio is very low and very few bug reports tend to be useful. A bugreport for a known bug needs to be reproducible otherwise it's just a waste of time. Previously unknown bugs can of course be found out but the rare bugs in this game seems to be pretty rare.

In short: The only use of public testing is to find previously unknown and probably rare bugs.

                        Sounds good to me...LOL!!!
Actually, the devs should select a wide variety of people to test patches and things. It would not hurt things too much I would not think. I mean, I cannot understand why all the top secret stuff going on with things since the 1.03 patch.
The original game is a different beast whan what we have today, we have twice as many ranks, twice as many weapons, and half the abilities. In general I do believe that the game is definitely moving in the wrong direction. A better effort should be made to incorporate certain changes into the admin program and have the changes take effect as server side variables that can be switched on and off at the admins discretion. These blanket style changes are causing too much grief throughout the community.
Public testing might suck as you say, but at least someone is offering up suggestions instead of shooting everything down...

Trust me, the beta test was absolutely horrid. You guys are lucky that all you have to complain about is the occassional AA missile going haywire (cue the Zataar AA vid), or your plane is no longer practically invulnerable.

The bug list collected by testers of the patch was so absolutely huge, I must say I'm personally impressed by the amount of things Dice WAS able to fix.

                            With 1.2 patch:

                            1. Do you know ANYONE who can press PrintScrn and have screenshot saved to hard disk?

                            2. Do you know ANYONE who can search maps by NAME in the server browser?

                            I don't.

Also, all AT players I've talked to have exprienced OBVIOUS "going through" AT rocket bug. I'm talking about people who play AT regularly, not those who switch kits when tank is in base.

And I'm not talking about things like blue/red tags - those ARE hard to find, and I forgive them for those.

However, not checking IF SERVER BROWSER WORKS?!

Takes 5 minutes to test it. At most.

Such things I can not forgive them.
