IndianScout (and other testers): Question for you

First, let me say that this is not intended to be a flame-fest, but rather some honest questions. Since some of the BF2RS folks read these forums I thought I would inquire into what kind of testing happened with this new patch. Specifically, how did so many bugs make it through to the production release. Bugs such as: nonsensical distance markers that point to nothing, strange textures on smoke from grenade launcher, extremely strange AA behavior, numerous animation glitches, maps that crash and are rendered unusable, AT missile problems, and others.

I see a few options here:
    A) "I never saw those bugs when testing. It's like the production release isn't what we tested."
    B) "I saw those bugs and thought they would be fixed before release."
    C) "I saw those bugs and didn't think they were a big deal."

    So what gives?

Again, for those of you who cannot resist the urge to chirp in with comments such as "they are *#&%! IDIOTS" or "yeah, this patch sux", please try to refrain. There are plenty of other threads for that.

No Matter what you say it's still going to turn into a flame fest

Word is there's a hotfix being put together rather quickly. Thank god fer that.

I'd be very interested in answers to these questions too.

They won't reply because they know allot of things slipped through the net (net had hole the size of blue whale in it) and if they admit it, there will be hell to pay, from the community and from EA (well I hope EA)

I was going to post: Find out what they're on because I want some. But I won't do that now.

Meh, I'd be curious to know if these were reported issues or not.
IE, did EA tell 'em to ship it even though they knew these bugs were still there?

              My bet is yes.
              That's their policy.
              Saw it coming.

I can honestly say I tested it and never ran into those bugs. The unfortunate reality is that all the resources DICE and EA could possibily muster to test a patch pales in comparison to the 50,000 people that play on ranked servers each day.

Of course it was sent out with EA approval, as they want to get the money for EU Force before they can spend a while trying to fix what they broke.

I am trying not to be too cynical here

EA don't care about it's customers. It happened to B&W2 and now this.

They do, "from a certain point of view" because customers = Money

Don't try that with me, seriously. The first game I started I noticed the strange distance marker and I also noticed that the soundbug that usually only affected vehicles now affects infantry as well. The sound bug is confirmed by at least 50% of my clan. There is no way you can miss that.

A reasonable explanation would be that the bugs are very hard to reproduce and track down in the code because noone on the patching team fully understands the engine code or because it's badly documented. Saying you didn't see any of the bugs is ridiculous. Not one person on the QA team fired the vehicle mounted TOW on SF maps?

                            same with me...

even if I could answer, it would be covered under the NDA..

                              Oh really?!

Tell us more!! (Think they'll fix the uber accuracy and the magic AA?)

Sorry for the hijack, yeah, you'd think we would've heard more from the testers about how much this patch sucked before we got it. Maybe they under some kind of NDA?
