Let's here from a true plane whore about what he thinks of the new patch and the AA. I want to know how he is fairing now that AA has been improved and what adjusments he made to be successful with the new patch?

I'm not going to post there because it's pointless to whisper is a room full of yelling, but his discontent when the 1.2 patch seems to be caused by:

1) His warped view that pilots should always have more kills (and higher scores) than infantry, or anyone else

2) His selfish view of jets as non-stop killing machines, instead of tools to empower infantry, distract the enemy, respond to threats, and tie up enemy troops causing havoc

But whatever. He's never going to post saying, "You know you were right. I just had to modify my outlook on how I fit into a successful team and relearn how to fly against AA that is actually threatening."

AA should be a DIRECT threat to ANY type of aircraft. The only people that weren't asking for the AA changes were "hotsh*t" pilots that think they're the greatest thing to hit the game...and guess what? They're the ones that are bitching now.

This has been a common view since BF1942 when it was easy to baserape after they increased the plane's armour and decreased the amount of damages MGs did to them. The dogfights in that game were also kill on first sight...which meant the other pilot was not going through his VIEWS as all pilots who say they're good should be doing so that you can't be snuck up on or caught with your pants down.

I personally like and found it interesting to read PWs post. As opposed to the tens and tens of posts made by infantry who seem to be blatantly point-jealous. He raised some good points and argumented them without being a dumbfvuck.

On the other hand we have people like these.

A2A is dead. A2S needs thinking. So- A2A needs fixing and A2S is manageble. I dont like he fact that a n00b can kill an expert by clicking but as most pilots have posted out. Its possible to stay alive.

Planes in BF2 were used as offensive tools. Not supporting tools. DICE pushed the jets to supporting role which is fine. PlaneWhore raised an interesting point- Its simple and logical to assume that a jet does more damage than a grunt.

What I hate the most when I read that thread on planetbattlefield is the arrogance those "good" pilots have. Didn't everyone notice that? all of those who claim to be "good" pilots and those who "wipe the ground with the infantry" think they are the most skilled players ever. Really sick!

Theres a reason for that. Since Jet business is mostly 2 vs 2 or 1 vs 1 in the air, the names are more common and more known. If you get killed by a tank/grunt you wont notice the name because theres too many of them. You will however notice a pilot because theres only 1-2 of them. This reverses and increases their ego somewhat. Some feel just good about themselves. Some go brag a lot. The great pilots I´ve encountered never-ever rub their kills under anyones noses in the server. On the forums its a different matter- DUCK, Im sorry to say this but youre pure ignorance itsself. If you check around and see how infantry laughs over pilots- Im taking every chance I get to laugh over those people.

Everything I've seen of his plane skills showed a distinct lack of dog fighting abilities.

Especially when I dropped in on his arse 'n put two up his tail in 1.12.

He's a great ground raper. Too bad it now takes skill fly now.

The problem is in the culture of the pilots that they gained before the patch. It is obvious that some people do not want to adapt to it. well, the fact that some people become very annoyed if they get killed by the AA couple of times is just total arrogance.
I also fine it hard to understand why a total noob should not be able to kill an "expert" pilot.

Its simple and logical to assume that a jet does more damage than a grunt.

if it were not a game then you are right. now in a game everyone wants to have fun. if you kill 70 players in a single game then you are the only one having fun. the jets were untouchable before the patch. I am glad that the "expert" pilots do not want to fly anymore. We can have fun now.
