    4) Lots of urban combat, which we all equate to "modern warfare"

    5) Fast action without requiring vehicles to transport players to the front (ever get left behind on Zatar Wetlands?)

    6) Beautiful Mesopotamian architecture, ethnic markets and many shops selling regional crafts

    7) View overlooking the sea
Good points. I like all the maps with maybe the exception of Mashtur but play whatever map is running when I show up.

Otherwise you wouldn't have attacked the first person to reply, who most correctly pointed out that people play how they want, they baught the game.

I stick with what I said, you are either trolling or too stupid to realize people wanna have fun and play the game the way they want. If that means they play one map more then others, so be it. If they wanna play mostly in certain vehicles, more power to them. Obviously you don't understand what me and others were trying to say when we pointed out that you play alot of the time in armor. Draw your own conclusions, but the whole "tank whore" and "karkand whore" attacks aren't too different, just you took yours personally while you thought everyone who enjoys Karkand would just take it on the chin (or you wanted to argue, hence the troll comment).
I am sure your calling me stupid in your last reply was not on any level with attacking me right? Whatever. Some people got what I was trying to do and you did not. I won't be replying to your posts again. thanks for the input and enlightenment. Yeah, you're right. You win. Now can we move on please.

Yes, for future reference, if you start a thread with any of the following please rethink hitting "Submit Reply" unless you are looking for an argument.

At this point someone mentions that people are free to play the game how they please. Which you respond with...

At this point you make your feelings on the matter clear. You state that you feel people are point whoring, no question marks here. If you wanted a more civil thread, you might have been better off making a poll and putting some real reasons people play Karkand.

Actually karkand is the point whore map of BF2. That is, when there are a lot of tank whores or medic whores.

              Re: Karkand = Point Whores?

Interesting thread, although the sarcasm and bickering was way over the top. I actually appreciated the question as to why focus on one map, simply because I personally tend to get tired of just one (even though the urban maps; especially Sharqi Peninsula, are my favorites). I liked the input of those scattered few who just took the question and answered with their reasons and preferences. I can see the reasoning to those answers, and some of those things I hadn't thought of that way.
              Honestly, although the original question could have been read as being agressive, I didn't see reason for people to take it as anything more then wanting to know. He did qualify himself by saying;

Thanks to those posters who took the time to answer the question. :)

                Re: Karkand = Point Whores?

Last time I checked my stats, I had a ratio of 8:3 on Karkand.

It's because I just love it! I'm sure when I get a decent amount of play time overall I'll get sick and move onto something else (Sharqi peninsula looks promising at 64 players) but at the moment, Karkand just rocks for me.

Okay, yes, I don't know the other maps very well. That might have a large thing to do with it. And the points I get -are- better on Karkand (close range = more kills and revives) but I think that is probably because I don't know other maps and generally shun vehicles. I also don't like large amounts of vehilces.

So not only do I know Karkand, but it suits my tastes and style as well.

I love to pay Karkand with a bounce of guys communicating on TeamSpeak. You can do quite some things to win a round for your team (on both sides) with just one proper squad. That's great fun.

                    Re: Karkand = Point Whores?

I play sharqi and karkand mostly. Why? It's fun. You don't have to worry about dying randomly due to 1 button kill planes flying everywhere. Press a button, everything in the immediate area dies from the plane. Shoot the plane? Flies off to repair without even landing. Not fun, at all.

Sharqi and Karkand has a great mix of infantry/land action...and thrown in chopper in sharqi. My two favorite maps.

Also, the action tends to be close quarters, so you get action everywhere you are at instead of having to travel for awhile just to get picked off by some tank hiding far away.

I love infantry fights, but vehicles and choppers add in a great flavor to the mix. However, the maps Karkand and Sharqi does the mix the best.

                      Re: Karkand = Point Whores?

I play heaps on Karkand, It's fun. For the record I don't care about points really, it's just really fun on Karkand, You don't have to walk for 8 minutes because the arrogant guy at base didn't give you a lift, the flags are close by and theres heaps of action, heaps of fun, heaps of stuff going on. Thats why urban maps are so fun and people enjoy playing them. Sure I hate the Spawn killing armour, sure I hate the c4 whores but in the end I end up having and enjoy battlefield 2.

Sure I might be getting 60 points are round but not because I'm trying too, its just a fun map. I really don't care about medic whores or anything but to think you dislike people playing the map just because you don't is unfair. They bought the game and can do what they wish with it.

                          Re: Karkand = Point Whores?

I've found some of the other 64 maps to be quite a trek as well.

Karkand puts you into the thick of it right away (although sometimes too quickly).
