OP set the tone, I'm starting to wondering why he cares so much how other people play their games. He's either trolling or he doesn't understand people play the maps they have fun on.

Who is OP? Trolling? Oh, you mean asking questions and trying to have a conversation.

Maybe when he figures out why he spends 1/3rd his time in a tank, he'll figure out why people spend alot of time on Karkand. I enjoyed my time on Karkand but now I've moved onto Ghost Town, so many sniper nests and so little time.

I walk up to the tank. Hit the enter key, and drive around. I figured it out. Are you done witht the whole tank whore thing yet dude?

Has it gotten to the point around here where a person who wants to post something has either got to “dumb” the wording down or write it in some child-like Dr. Seuss fashion so that people don’t come out of the woodwork and take offense like the poster was attacking them personally?

Stop reading everything like it’s an attack. It’s not about the literal “you”. This whole thing was meant to create a discussion so I could glean some perspective on why people play certain maps so much. Perhaps the next post will have a disclaimer at the beginning.

I think when you start the thread with "Karkand = Point Whores?" you gotta question where the OP is coming from (troll?). You don't have to dumb anything down, but you also can't talk down to the people who use these forums. And talking down is exactly what you did.

If you look at my stats you will see I have played karkand for 128h (but I do have almost 700h playtime , but I played karkand the most, and I have 5 only karkand servers listed in my favorites .

Yes, it is true, karkand is going to give you points faster then other maps , but why ? and is it all about the points ?

- karkand gives you points very fast because it's a very close map, most of the time, doesn't mather if there is some flags taken or not, it's realy one team vs the other team both on each side and not far from eachother, wich gives you very intense and close combat, wich gives you lots of kills, lots of healin, repairing, resuplieing, reviving, ..... and offcourse lots of points .

But the fun in karkand is just in there, you don't have to walk or drive half a mile to get some action, you don't have to look for an enemy, you just get in game and few sec later there is tons of action, and there are no jets or black hawks to ruin the fun , this is why I like karkand, sometimes it's just crazy on the streests there, all red and blue dots shooting and stuff, just fun fun fun.

tired of the map ? no, it's not realy map related I gues, it's more the fact of shooting up enemy's and on this map there are tons of them all on the same place

You may very well be the first person who understood what I was trying to discern. I appreciate the post.

Ok. So am I the only one who thinks playing one map for over 100 hours is inasane? I mean, If you only have 300 hours total, that's 1/3 of your time on one map ! I don't get it. What possible reason could you have to simply play the same map over and over and over? Do you suck at the rest? Are you looking to use wall glitches? Maybe you desperately need a 200+ point round to get your next rank? Maybe you cannot hang and get even a medicore score on another map? I'm looking for input here so please enlighten me.I know this seems like an odd post, but it just seems to me that a person would get bored doing the same thing on the same map over and over all the time. I am just curious why some of you ONLY play that one map. It must be for the points, which to me, is sad IMHO. The game is not called Battlefield 2 "Strike At Karkand". moving on......

i play that level alot because everyone else playes it. would i rather go to a level "tank whores and bombers" or " AGHH LOTS OF BULLETS AND few hackers. because.. THERE ARE NONE.! !! ! ! ! ! !! 11 11 ! ! one one one "

The question mark at the end of the title to the thread should imply that I was looking for an answer to something. That's what a question mark does. If the title had been “Karkand = Point Whores!” you would have been in the right to think the way you did. That was not the case though.

As far as my reply to the first poster in the thread, he said nothing that even slightly contributed to the post. He was being sarcastic so I fired one over his bow.

Finally, you went after me like you were on some crusade. I honestly still can't figure out why you would bring up my stats and look for something to rip me open about. That is a very petty thing to do. Then you go on about my being a tank whore. If anyone has gone out of their way to attack someone around here, it's you.

Most of my time is on karkand as medic or spec-ops. 141 hours to be exact. Then comes Wake, where i have 88 hours.

I can only speak for myself.... I really like playing Karkand and I play a lot.
Who really cares if someone plays one map all the time or all the maps?? Does it bother you? You should just worry about yourself and what you like to do.
There are maps I could care less if I ever play on. I prefer Karkand because of the infantry tactics and NO AIR VEHICLES.. I am not good at flying anything. It doesn't get boring because every round is different believe it or not. I don't play the same way everytime as I try to keep it from getting boring. I also like to be on the USMC side because I can understand what is being said... It is all about preferences. What are yours??
I am not a point whore either... I earn every point I get . If I wanted to be a point whore I would become an ace in the air and bomb the crap out of the guys on the ground. :)

You mis-read my post. You took it out of context. That's not my fault and certainly not a good reason for you to try to chew on me. I am sure you feel better after saying that though.

You cannot equate using armor to spending time on the same map. They are not even in the same realm. One is the arena and the other is a tool in that arena. Got it now? I did not say anything about kit or vehicle usage in my original post.

People love Karkand because:

1) No jets (not gettin bombed every other minute)

2) No helicopters (not getting gunned down every minute that you're not getting bombed)

3) Every kit can contribute (unlike most other maps where only 3-4 kits are useful - ever seen a Support guy on Operation Clean Sweep who isn't a pilot? It's sad.)

4) Lots of urban combat, which we all equate to "modern warfare"

5) Fast action without requiring vehicles to transport players to the front (ever get left behind on Zatar Wetlands?)

6) Beautiful Mesopotamian architecture, ethnic markets and many shops selling regional crafts

7) View overlooking the sea

I am not "bothered" by it.

I was simply trying to gain some insight into why people would play that particular map over and over. That is the map of chice for most and I wanted to know why. Very simple. You have contributed to my perspective.

And yet you still don't understand what you were doing with your first post. Could your nose get any higher up in the air? You put "?"'s in there like it would make you immune from the fact that you were making an underhanded attempt to attack people for putting alot of playtime in Karkand. Otherwise you wouldn't have attacked the first person to reply, who most correctly pointed out that people play how they want, they baught the game.

I stick with what I said, you are either trolling or too stupid to realize people wanna have fun and play the game the way they want. If that means they play one map more then others, so be it. If they wanna play mostly in certain vehicles, more power to them. Obviously you don't understand what me and others were trying to say when we pointed out that you play alot of the time in armor. Draw your own conclusions, but the whole "tank whore" and "karkand whore" attacks aren't too different, just you took yours personally while you thought everyone who enjoys Karkand would just take it on the chin (or you wanted to argue, hence the troll comment).

urban maps are better...less time searching for the enemy and more time actually fighting them, who wants to wander aimlessly around a map in search of the enemy. there's a lot of other urban maps though..people just choose karkand because there aren't b****** flying around in heli's the whole time. nobody likes continually being raped by pansies in heli's or jets or anything.

Karkand is not for point whores, Karkand is for infantry-heavy battle without copters and jets ruling the entire map.

Everyone knows that the point whores play Warlord. Palace noob tube tug-of-war anyone?
