Bf2: shoot at anything that has a head
RL: Usually take out more important targets of opportunity

If the physics for bullet drop are realistic then calculating the drop would take too long and be too complicated for playing a BF2. I would suggest just to practice and get a feel for how much bullet drop is needed. That is what I did. Plus, most players don't even know bullet drop exists.

well. I killed many guys from great distances like 300+ meters. i aimed right at him and killed him in 1 shot. so theres no bullet travel.

i didnt aimed above his head and still killed him, so there no bullet drop.
ive seen few movies that confirmed my theory.

Its one thing to think there is no bulletdrop ... but dont state your misconception as truth on these boards. If you actually made kills over 300 meters you would know that there is drop and that you had to compensate.

The furthest confirmed kill (headshot; freshly spawned enemy) I made was out from 436 meters. I had to aim quite a bit above his head to make that 1 shot 1 kill.

Bullet Drop / Travel has allready been established for this game so stop posting crap.

Whats the point of having an opinion on something that has allready been established in several threads --> HERE <-- and --> HERE .
Its a HARD FACT that there is such a thing as bulletdrop and travel.

                  Even EA/DICE have confirmed this.

Or are you one of these guys that is still argueing that the world is flat?

BF2 = A man can take a .50cal to the chest at close range and live to kill you while you reload.

RL = A man can take a .306 to the chest at 800 meters and die.

ASAIK the instant kill, would be in the back of the head where the neck meets the skull, the little indentation. ..but with a .50 you really wouldn't need to aim at a specific place...just in the general area(I.e Head).

Re: BF2 Sniping vs. Real Sniping?

IN THE GAME SHORT ANSWER>>>> HOLD MOUSE BUTTON DOWN SO YOUR SIGHT IS MAINTAINED AND WATCH THE FALL OF SHOT AND ADJUST....

IN REAL LIFE..... GET HOLD OF BINOS / SCOPE USED ..... GO SOMEWHERE FLAT AND ACCUARATELY MEASURE KNOWN DISTANCES 100m 200m 400m 800m etc
YOU THEN GET SOMEONE OF AVERAGE HEIGHT (SAY 5'10) AND GET THEM TO STOP AT THE SAID DISTANCES AND YOU NOTE HOW BIG THEY ARE IN THE SCOPE AND WRITE IT DOWN then just dial in the distance and point and shoot

OTHERWISE HAVE A LASER RANGE FINDER (not sure if marines get to play with them)
cheers and happy hunting from someone who"s shot/qualified in everything from 9mm - .50cal and more in RL

IN RL .50cal does not even need to hit to kill, if it just misses the speed will can cause bleeding in places you ain't meant to bleed

Well I know that for the Barrett M95 in BF2; If a target is at 400m you use the the first line below the middle reticule (not mildot) then where it says '6' that means 600m and so on. I am a bf2 player and I know a lot about real sniping ballistics it's not too complicated for me.I found the link for that shooterready.com site ages ago. I got perfect on nearly all of the shots in one, except for the first .50 shot and i got the hold over excersise done without fail on my first try.

Jemme, heres a vid that shows a guy sniping people from like all the way across the map: http://files.filefront.com/snipeavi/.../fileinfo.html
