While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
You have to be vey careful with this approach
BF2 has a built in detector
it scans yor reistry
and if it even SEES a copy of Alcohol on your computer
BF2 will not run!!
if even you use the CD#1 or DVD
there are instructions at Alcohol Website to remedy this
and as I have 4 legal copies at home
(for each of 4 LAN systems)
I only bought 1 copy of Alcohol (the license is only 1 use of program - B*&tards!!!!)
so I have older FREE (yes - legal free) copy of Daemon tools which I use for the other 3 machines
never tried the mini-image route

What are you talking about? i have alcohol and many image files and run bf2 with no problem.
So is a crack safe to use? from game copy world? PB wont detect anything?
What's this about me needing to have Kernel debugger disabled to run DAEMON? When I tried to do it my whole computer freaked out, and wouldn't restart if I didn't revert my computer to the last known safe conditions, and then gave me a message that said I needed to disable Kernel debugger. How do I do that?
Here's a question. Before anyone asks.....yes, I have legal copies of BF2, SF, and EF. I made my own mini-image using Alcohol, and mounted it using alcohol. Everything was working just fine.....................
Until GRAW came along. GR wouldn't launch because it detected emulation software. I unistalled Daemon, but it didn't help. I uninstalled Alcohol, and everything was fine. I reinstalled Daemon, just to be sure, and the game wouldn't run. So, it seems GRAW won't run if you have Alcohol or Daemon installed.
I have Nero installed, but GRAW doesn't seem to care. I installed Nero's Image Drive, and GRAW still doesn't seem to care.
My question is this: Nero Image Drive requires a .iso or .nrg filetype for it to mount the image. Has anyone had any success with either of these filetypes. I seem to recall people talking about problems making an .iso of BF2, but don't remember anyone mentioning a .nrg file. I'm just trying to see if anyone knows offhand if this will work or not before I bother trying it. No point wasting the time if someone here knows that it won't work before I even start.............right?
Well, I have one worry : Performance impact. Daemon is another process and possibly takes up more by directly emulating and connecting itself with your OS by tricking it into thinking you have an extra drive. I'm using this because my BF2 normally won't start within 2 minutes with the CD for some reason. It just stays at the Splash Screen. How much frames per second or loading time will this decrease/increase? I noticed with Daemon on my CS:S benchmark, there wasn't much of a decrease (I couldn't tell. 0 At least, 3 at most).
One Daemon only starts to run the image then uses almost little or no resources. As for start up time, just calculate your CD read speed to your Hard Drive Speed. In other words VERY fast.

Well I find now that game companies are just blacklisting applications that use emulation. There are ways to get around it but simply if its interfering with a game just uninstall and you will be fine.
I tried to test it out on BF1942, but that didn't work. Not saying that it won't work for BF2, I'll try that tomorrow. On a grimmer not, I got Ghost Recon Advanced War in the mail...free offer, so should arrive sometime this summer :P...so I doubt even if I get it to work that I can use it long :-(
*edit* it worked for BF2 (sweet, loads alot faster now), but not BF1942. Anyone know how I can get that to work, I still play BF1942 on my laptop, but reading the CD kills battery life time.
Had I known this was legal, I could of saved money! I had to buy a second disk because my original was scratched! There was no way I was waiting for EA to send me another disk. Hmmmph..
In your tut troublleshooting section you mention there could be problems from trying to make an image from a DVD (which I have). Is this only good for CD's? I noticed Talus said it does work for his DVD. Is there something else that needs to be done for creating an image from a DVD?

Doom3 (before they removed the CD check in a patch) only checked for the driver name. Changing the driver name from the default on installing Daemon Tools allowed it to run. I believe DT v4 generates a random name automatically (I'm still using 3.47).

I use a CloneCD image on Daemon Tools for BF1942. Not a mini-image though.

All depends on the games. However I found that CD's are more reliable than DVD's but if you have one try it.
