Re: AT not used on armor

Lock this tired @ss thread already.......

Its much easier to kill someone at a distance with an AT rocket from an Eryx, or Sraw, than it is with the MP5. Nothing like sniping with the good ol' DAO-12 huh? It is a weapon, you may stick it in your @ss if you would like, but its just fine to kill someone with it.

Maybe the AT kit will be more viable with the release of 1.2, in reference to the addition of the new unlock.

Its just silly to come here and WHINE like a little, well you know, when you are killed by something you dont like to be killed with. No one likes to die, and if i were you i would be embarassed to admit i was killed by a slow AT rocket.

Anyways thanks for creating 6 pages of useless text toward this issue, WHICH ISNT AN ISSUE AT ALL.

Rockets also cause death unhealable by medic which is frustrating. By all means it is a frustrating experience to be pwned by a rocket and it doesnt take much skill because the rounds can be moved if you try and run. It is a guided missile remember. Until BF2 and EA make it harder I dont expect to see a decline in this, but it is unfortunatly a strong tactic. I personally wont use it, but I am practicing avoiding these attacks.

How could EA possibly make it any harder? Trying to hit an individual person with an AT rocket who'se running laterally across your field of vision is like trying to thread a needle from 150m away. Not to mention the small splash damage. If you're getting frustrated by people killing you with AT rockets, I suggest you find a better way to fight back, because nerfing it is the wrong answer.

I dont consider myself fighting, I was just offering an explination and a possible way to repair an annoying occurance. Im not saying its easy, I am just saying its unrealistic. I made it clear that it is something that can be used, its a feature allowd so why not let people go at it. Just because I get frustrated doesnt meen it shouldnt be there, people are allowd to use it if they wish, i still find it easy, I know i have an easy time doing it, but i rather not. Just an opinion, not an argument, sry you took it that way.

            Ohhh please stop talking unrealistic....

Freaking splash damage is only 1 feet :hmm: Aslo would it not be unrealistic if it had just one feet splash damage (tank god for it, or it will be a noob weapon)

I real, if an AT would be off and hit someone 3ft away from them, whos standing infront of a wall or on ground, what would happend?

Everyone around including both would be long gone right?

Yes but may concinder if it get to much splash damage...
Noobs will make it a m203:laugh:

I want splash damage like Desert combat :)
but I think it not would be implentend because in DC you can only shoot the rocket one way.

rockets are considered prime anti infantry weapons, realistically.

Re: AT not used on armor

I hate getting tubed, but I don't have a problem with using AT rockets against infantry. If you're playing AT then your job is to take down armour, logically you'll have your launcher out most of the time because the DAO or (god forbid) MP5 aren't particularly effective against tanks...this means you'll occasionally run round a corner into a PKM wielding support guy and if you took the time to change weapons you'd be dead. The grenade launchers are a secondary weapon provided to give the assault troopers a bit more firepower (I don't get all the people saying they're useless against vehicles - I always take down transports in one shot...maybe they were already a bit damaged but have you ever driven a Vodnik more than 5 feet without hitting a tree?) - the AT rocket is the primary weapon for the class.

You only get 5 rounds so it's a big sacrifice to use them against infantry but sometimes it's the best option. Besides it's the only weapon you've got against anyone who's more than spitting distance away, start shooting someone at range with the DAO and you'll just annoy them, even if you hit as far as I know you do 8 lots of 5 damage (correct me if I'm wrong) and these deviate massively so by the time you get much past 10ft you'll be lucky if more than one hit.

Re: AT not used on armor

OK I'm getting tired of this discussion.

Here is a Boon trying to use an AT.

Click here to watch the boon in action

Very skillful attempt. Probably looks the same when some people would try to use the AT class in BF2 before complaining about how overpowered and skilless it is.
I am an AT solder IRL and I'm telling you that AT soldiers are meant to be infantry killers. If we can take down tanks then what do you think are we able to do with infantry? Also usually we are also covered by numerous heavy MG positions. And you know what happens to infantry that runs into open MG fire. Not like in BF2...

I agree. Moaning Ops players that think their gun in the dogs bollocks and wont accept getting killed.

The rant about AT should only be used against tanks. OMG When tanks ONLY go after other tanks/APCs then your rants might hold some weight.

A friend of mine took out 3 guys on foot with his single AT rocket. (no idea why they were so close to each other...maybe sucking each others tubes or something). Anyway, the last thing on my mind was calling him a noob. It was a blinding shot and there was much dancing and merry-making.

I don't play AT much, but I have learn to use the rocket on foot troops. Allow me to say it again...LEARNT. Thus skill is needed. I can even hit a dude from a good distant, who is running. That my friend is skill. Nothing noobie about it.

Didn't read the full number of pages in this thread but really, stop whining.

If people like you (those who complain about everything that stops you winning) got your way every time there'd be no game at all. You're going to die in the game sometime, get over it. If you're a sniper and don't like at rockets, don't stay zoomed in all the time and be aware of your surroundings.

Oh, and yes I did notice the dark skin color of my favorite class in BF2. (In fact all "heavy assault classes" in BF2 are of African origine) But I wonder how you come to post this nonsense. None of my comments in this nor in other threads have any racial remarks.
