Re: Commanders should not be able to spot "un-prone" snipers

I think snipers will play a bigger role as they will be the only class that can remove Claymores now. So a sniper will be the best as an anti-sniper, lol.

I wish it said "Enemy spec-ops" or "Enemy engineer" spotted when the commander spots them so that you could know their class for your advantage...

I think snipers will play a bigger role in the next patch because of the increased accuracy. Claymores are somewhat negligible. I rarely run into them and when I do *BOOM*. I never even seen it coming. Also you can't defuse claymores unless you are facing the back of it so if you run into one while climbing a ladder you're sol.

Yeah you really should think about peoples reactions and what you are saying and if it makes any sense before you pres the enter button.
Snipers are a good teammate because they shoot people that you might not even see. I've had multiple times when either i am a sniper and i will shoot someone who is about to knife a comrad or is shooting at them from a disclosed postion. And i've had snipers save me from enemies that i didnt see.
About the ghillie suit, i would have to semi-agree. They should still be able to be spotted and the likes but their ghillie suits should be better suited for where they are positioned.(ie- being able to swap out gillie suits on the spot for differant places like grass tress, bushes. etc etc)(if youve played mgs3, or 4 maybe i dont remember which one it is, its the one where he is in the forest)

Re: Commanders should not be able to spot "un-prone" snipers

I love playing sniper in this game, but it has always bugged me they are hampered in that role. In this game they are treated more as marksmen where they are encouraged to move about and fight as part of a squad instead of concealing themselves, selectively removing targets, and providing intelligence as in real life. To make the class a true sniper the scope power should be increased, the ghillie suit should be made effective in some manner, and there should be an incentive in place to encourage snipers to spot out enemies.

By the way, has DICE answered ANY of those questions in the question board?

Nice idea for pubs, but in match play this could be horrible.

Example: The squad leader is a sniper and just goes prone someone near the flag. And his teammates just spawn on him like crazy. And you can't find the source unless you physically look for it.

Re: Commanders should not be able to spot "un-prone" snipers

well i only play sniper and most of my kills are from arty, yes it would be cool if they were invisible to radar (like spec ops are)
as for snipers not being team players nonsense,a sniper doesnt get as many kills as other classes but........

on a good day i can get 15-20 kills per round, help cap flags, hunt enemy snipers(or keep them busy so my team can get out of the way ect,

also one shot from my m95 will usally result in weakining the enemy to 2 bars so fellow team m8 can make easy work,
also heli's cant see me firing at them (usally)and ive shot a few down try doing that with out AA with ur assult rifle (litraly no chance)

my opinon a sniper is most steathyIST player not spec ops,so i agree invisiable to uav but not from troops spoting them <-- would spoil sniper vs sniper battles.

the flag going white should indicate a enemy is near by and youre team m8 's should act acordingly, using arty on a sniper is a waste <-- change to sniper and ingage or get close (snipers are weak and av slow reload) it reqiures a pin point head shot to withstand a enemy at close range ,with little chance against 2-3 at close range.

as for being a squad leader and proning as you say,
whats stoping a spec opps being a squad leader and a hole load of invisble spec ops spawning on him<------ its the same ?

There is another element of sniping people forget, and that is spotting.

I have been effective on a team spotting enemy movement, and units.

true i also do alot of spotting but really that a CAMPING COMANDER'S JOB TO SPOT,as he has the best view if i spot infantary i shoot at it,
i also run from apc, tanks, but shoot jeeps and heli as best i can.
bolt action snipers are better when they are behind there team.

as they can distract the enemy by pounding .50 in the enemy head(<--me)
instead of comanders looking for a easy kill and wasting all that arty they should be spoting tanks, apc, infantary rather than a lone sniper.
thats just my view as i only play sniper.

comanders (good ones)get enough points as it is,snipers being invisible to radar would make them concetrate on doing a proper job for the team instead of wasting arty on 1 sniper.
if you hapen to be hit by a sniper you can try and get cover b4 he reloads(svd ect is slighly diffent as there reload is better and they usaly are a bit closer)but if a apc hits you chances are youre toast.
i dont think it would be that mutch of a disavantage, what the point of a guil suit if a comander can see you anyway.sniper shots are very loud it dosent take a genius to figure out where he is,arty for one sniper is a waste get ur sniper on youre team to hunt.
as soon as i hear enemy sniper spotted im on it. usaly on top of a building
or listen for the sound of his shot then i move in.

p.s not aving a pop at u,just thought i add a bit to see what u thought as youre a sniper

Sniping is an art in itself. You don't amass much points doing it. If you want to not be seen by the enemy commander, try hiding better. Only take shots in the open when you absolutely have to. Then run for cover like a littler girl.
