kekeke, Also I wanted to point this out, even though I commented, unless you have a child, you (and I) shouldnt really talk. You would do anything for them to make them happy ( I hope O_O ( to a extent)), idk

Ok, this is my last argument.

Children dont think in that way. Its all new, they take it as it comes. Unless their are like Stewie from family guy, and that is NOT REAL... lol

A child doesnt go: "Ouch thats gotta hurt, good thing its not real and I just came to this movie theater to watch these actors play their parts. Because all the knowledge I have of the world tells me that that cant be real. No worries here..."

      What a joke.

Yea, I know it is. I play horrible violent games with blood spraying everywhere. I also own enough guns to supply a small army. Yet I don't go out and start blasting people, and neither do the other 99.9% of the population that plays video games like this. It's always those rare select morons that do so.

I have a 5 year old daughter myself, she loves playing kidgames on pc. Dont know if she would understand or be able to play BF2, and my wife would prolly kill me if i tried to teach her. The biggest problem i see here is......
If she gets to good at it, who am i to tell her to go to bed at night when she just have owned me three rounds in a row!!?

That is so absolutely true, see what video games did to these guys?

It's OBVIOUS video games are SO dangerous to our youth. America is doomed. Only politicians wanting to spend your tax dollars so people don't have to read clearly printed ratings on boxes can save us now.

edit: through all the posts i have read here so far, 98% of them are negative. So what if she plays, I remember reading something about how a study in the 80's said the game pacman would cause people to go nuts or something. Since Mario could, did you go out and try to jump on people's heads to squish them? Wow another 100 points! So what if she is only 5, I've been playing bloody, gory, shoot-em-up games ever since the original half-life when I was like 10, and my path in life is going to be saving people, not killing them. If you want to believe the media's hype about video games and they are the source of satin and evil....go ahead, because it's crap. I don't think a 5 year old should be playing something like GTA San Andreas with the drugs, sex, hookers, and everything else it has in it, but bf2? Bf2 is nothing compared to other games.

The reason why most of us gamers (on decent games not GTA ) can play because our childhood wasnt spent on shooting people. Our childhoods were founded on morals. But if you were to make your daughters foundations on violent video games from the middle end of BF2 to the extreme end of GTA then that will extreamely affect her.

Ok, like I said, i have played violent games forever and basically was raised on games that involved shooting people. GTA was just an example, and to me, bf2 isn't even worth considering a violent video game compared to what is out there. No blood, no heads flying off, no nothing. Well since I grew up with these games, I should be a lunitic right? Thus far, I haven't shot anything but soda cans, boddles, and paper targets...oh, and a bbq and car hood that some idiot brought to the shooting range. I'm also am a certified EMT-B for the county i live in. Hmm...so far I seem like a threat don't I? I've got enough credits at my college to get an AS degree in the major of Administration of Justice, or also known as Police science. My ultimate goal is to obviously get into law enforcement. Gee...I really guess that means I am going to go shoot everyone up...I mean wanting to go into law enforcement and all, being an EMT after all, I mean since I grew up with these games, I just have no morals, no sense of life or care about the world...I mean you can't have that if you want to be a cop, or be certified as an EMT.

My point is, it does not matter whether or not you let children play these games that were meant for adults. It's how you teach them as they grow up that matters. If you let them believe that they can kill someone and they will just come back to life 15 seconds later...then you have not done your job. You have to let the child know that this isn't real, and the real world is different. I knew that, I knew that it wasn't real. As I said, its those rare few out there that ruin it for everyone, and its those that the media picks up on because all the media shows anymore are the horrible things in life. Maybe 1 out of every million gamers will actually go out and shoot someone thinking that it is ok after playing a video game. As long as this guy is teaching his daughter that this is only a game, and not real, that in real life it is not ok to do things like you do in this game, that hurting people is wrong, and finally he keeps telling her this, keeps drilling that into her head...then she wont go shoot up a school, she wont go do the things we see in video games. Yes there is a chance, but such a small and slim one that everyone is making a big deal out of. I had moral, but I didn't have the facts that it was only a game drilled into my head constantly. I could have shot up everything, but instead I am choosing to protect life and help save it.

So rant me all you want, this guy can do whatever he wants, and if he is a good parent, then he will make sure she knows it's only a game. I did, and so does most of the people out there. So stop trying to tell him what to do, stop telling him he is a bad parent, it's not your kid, so what do you even care. If you are just going to say something bad, don't post, because I am increasingly becoming tired of just reading negative things in these forums. I rarely see something postive, and when I do, it amazes me. This is raceacontari, also known as Raptor in some other games, and if you don't like what I have said, fine, everyone has the right to their own opinion, but I know just from myself that playing bloody violent video games from a young age wont affect you as long as you know what is right from wrong, real from fake. I know this from experience, because I too started young, and look where I am going in my life.
