Multiple computers behind router - problems with multiplayer

We have three computers behind a cable modem/Belkin Pre-N wireless router. When any two computers are trying to play multiplayer we get severe "jerkiness" or lag. Individually, all computers work fine in multiplayer.

    Some tech stuff --
All computers are 3G or +
All have 1G DDR Ram or +
All have Nvidia 6600 GT or +
We all have PB updated, BF2 updated and all video card drivers/bios, etc..
And yes -- we all bought our own copies of BF2

On the router front -- one computer is cabled directly to the router, and the other two have wireless G cards in them. Even the direct cabled one experiences the twitchiness when a second computer is connected. and I have tried wiring two of them directly to the router and we still get the lag issue.

    Now questions --
    1. I obviously can't forward the ports via the router to any one computer without impacting the other two, so... can I change the ports that each computer uses? so that the router can forward specific ports to specific computers?
I seem to recall that in some other multiplayer game that I could specify unique ports for each computer in their startup scripts.

    2. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. We hate not being able to play together...

That means your internet just can't handle more than one online game at a time. Upgrade your internet with your cable company.

I had a router it was a pain in the (you know). By the way we run 2 computers on a DSL line with a 256 k (is it kilo or meg?) uplink speed (just plain old standard DSL) 1 meg (?) D/L speed. We tossed the router and got a hub. The hub is a dream come true. We plugged it in it worked, no set up ,no selecting ports, It just worked. If your net connection can handle 3 computers I would suggest using a hub (its about the same price as a router). Just be sure to have a fire wall installed (turn it off when playing BF2). Hope this helps. . . . .Red

We have Cox cable with 9M download and 1M upload. I've confirmed the speeds with several test sites.
We have also hardwired all three computers in an attempt to remove the wireless issue.

Still same twitchiness when 2 or more computers connect. Any other suggestions.

Try a different router or try upgrading the firmware on your current router.

            Port triggering may help you:

Ive got a question. Ive read in multiple places that if you type like 192.168.10.1 or w/e it is in the interenet it should take you to the routers configuration. This does not work for me, Ive tryed many many adresses, and the one my computer sais in network connections. Anyone know a reason why this wouldnt be working? I have a netopia cayman router. Also, whats firmware^^

                http://192.168.1.1 for many routers
                http://192.168.0.1 for others

It should be in the manual.

The firmware is sorta like the built-in software in the router...you can update it using a 'flash' procedure to take advantage of improvements and bugfixes.

                Again..check with your router's manual.

Since you haven't told us ANYTHING about your router, there is little else we can do

I have to register to use port forwarding? That port trigger application.

No, sorry..you don't actually have to use the application. Just read up on port triggering in your routers manual to see if it supported.

That page does give you all of the specific info you need to access and configure port triggering for various routers and games...which is handy.

That application is using Port Triggering to be an extension of Port Forwarding in case you have all of your port forwards used up, so you don't need to use it unless you think it will help.

Alright, neither of those ips worked. Anyway, I dont have the manual anymore, but I know what model it is... Netopia Cayman 3387W router.

What are your "ping" times, when you all play together? And what are the "ping" times, when you play alone? theres any difference?
