Yeah its funny I think a lot of people are shy. Some don't seem to start a convo but when they hear someone else speaking they usually start up themselves. BTW I rarely ever hear any sqeaky 12yr old voices either.

i just played there thanks to this thread.

totally liked the server, i joined teams who actually used mics. im a bit hesitant to use mine, seeing how my headset broke, so all i have left is the mic embeded in my webcam. i should give it a try next time, see if anyone can hear me.

Yes, I agree there. Most of the people I do end up speaking to, sound like adults. I wonder why no one talks?

In my personal experience, I have found players which don't speak English as their first language are much more willing to break the ice. Maybe, they are less embaressed to talk, for some reason, in a different tongue?

I have a headset, but I only use it if its necissary, like if someone is comming up behind a squadmate. I'm not that much of a chatty person. I do talk on a headset for 40 hours a week though.

Nothin ment by it. Just a habbit. When things get hairy, I tend to drop into a no BS "command voice". Happens in real life too.

I just spend the last 2 minutes there. I join at the hotel, jumped on the AA fired off two shots (no flares about at all). The second one hit my target. Before I even started to wonder wot happened to the first. I see 'you were punished'. Clan members then ranted on about how I shouldnt TK, even thou I told them that I was in AA. BlkOps clan they were.
Maybe I was unluck but this has really put me off from trying it again after reading such a good writeup.

That's unusual because I play with those guys all the time. However maybe when you use the AA you should be more careful. We all know that they veer off and hit friendlies. Never fire the AA when you can see a friendly. I hate it when I'm dog fighting another heli only for someone to fire AA and they hit me instead. In this ocassion maybe the punish was warranted so think about whether or not you should have fired it in the 1st place.

I didn't mind it at all. I'd rather be told what to do then be shot out of the sky. We had a few moments of disorder where both gunners would drop to the back seats to begin repairing, it was your shouting that kept us alive.

Well the missle went flying off. I didnt even see them on screen. You know how the AA can hit things that are a longer distant to your target and being out of view. The AA is a right mess and any decent player should know this.
The idea of not using the AA cos some friendly is in the sky is silly. - But I understand wot you are saying. It was ok to fire it, trust. But sods law rules again

BTW Funny thing the Mrs said to me last night. After quite a few beers she noticed a players name DrunkenPirate.com she said to me should I warn him for name violation as we don't permit advertising on our server. I nearly fell off my chair laughing and said that's DP from TBF2, I think we let that one slide.

Hmm, 2 beers isnt quite a few but anyway
I didnt cotton on to who it was till this morning. I mentioned it to HKS last night as Drukenpirate.com and I were having a shoot out, I have to say I was the next looking at the spawn screen :laugh: :p

Unfortunately AA sucks and it happens all the time. That's why most don't use AA now. Its unfortunate that you got punished, specially on your 1st visit however don't let it put you off.

I use to get mad when I got punished but when you think about it, what's the big deal? Unless you get punished 5 times you won't get kicked. If you do get kicked it only lasts a day, then you can rejoin the next day.

Remember to lead by example. Don't punish unless you know it was an intentional tk. If you have a problem with someone intentionally tk'ing shout out for an admin. If an admin doesn't happen to be actually on the server, it doesn't mean that they are not monitoring it remotely. Further problems visit our site www.r2clan.com make a post or make a quick shout in the shout box. Remember if you have problems with a player, take screenshots of their name. Download the BR file and send it to us. We will review the BR and take the appropriate action.

Im my opinion they shouldnt have punished you for an accident. Unfortunately not everyone has the same idea on what an accident is:|:

That BR was from Wake Gimpy not Oman. I think you got the wrong one. There was a funny part where CaptainPuffy landed on the Mrs head and killed her when they para dropped from the BH.

I also saw those rule breakers camping the carrier. I have kicked that ArkAngel guy a few times before for doing that, looks like he doesn't get it and needs a permanent ban.

That was nothing compared to that other game gimpy you had on wake which was total carnage but that's when the server crashed and it didn't upload the BR from it. That would have been an awesome one to review because the teamwork on your side was almost perfect. All I remember is saying damn that pesky BH, after I spawn died numerous times then we only had 1 flag left and it became pure rapage. That was the only time I was relieved that the server crashed.

BTW it wasn't DrunkenPirate.com on that map that gimpy posted it was DrunkenWarriors.com
