attack copter skills question, how do you stablize it when switching to gunner

because I could never really do it, I tend to think those good solo copter pilots are cheaters.

I know I am wrong, but how do you do it, to switch seats back and forth and still make the kills without crashes. What is the trick? Third person view? Joystick? What is it?

You shouldn't switch positions in the first place, the chopper becomes unstable for a reason. The developers wanted to encourage teamwork so they added it to make you pick up a gunner. So just wait and let a teammate shoot, or you can shoot and have a teammate fly. You should never be in a chopper by yourself.

Well then how those solo pilots achieved it without cheating? They play even better alone than with a gunner.

i tried it a few times but the chopper almost always starts spinning right away and at the very least will only stay stable for 1-2 secs. if you are quick you can fire off a missle but its not very effective unless you are amazing with the guided missle.

The chopper spins to the right, so the pilots point a little left, switch seats and fire. By the time you've fired the rightward spin has pointed you in the direction you want to shoot. After that he helo flies itself for longer than it takes the missile to run out of fuel.

Same to me, so I think they must switch the seats very quick and frequent, like 1 second or something, if you use the 3rd person view, it is possible?

You wont crash,all that will happen is you spinning in circles up higher and higher. What you need to do is what Barking Squirrel did, however if you go solo and arent super good with the tv guide more then likely you will end up bieng an easy target since your a sitting duck.

I consider myself a pretty decent heli operator.just don't switch.it's more work than it's worth.
On tanks or things that are on the ground.Just dive bomb him and light him up with rockets.Other than that it just takes practice.

Oh no I didn't do it, I don't fly helos, only gun. I've just seen others do it. I'm highly observant like that.

100 altitude, 15° sideways yaw from target, switch seat, TV missile.
then back to pilot until missile has reloaded / new target acquired, repeat.
Then go for refill repairs, then start from top.

you need a mouse with 2 thumb buttons to do it w/ ease. and i do pick up gunners every chance i get, but if i do not have a gunner i use this technique. if someone can switch between minigun and a backseat to repair the bh, it ought to be ok for someone to use this technique. in real life the minigunner is strapped in. althoug, i have been kicked from several servers using this technique. CAL allows it in match play, i have seen it used in match play also. what barkingsquirrel said is the same manner i do it in.

Yes it matters. Turn left - ALL helos spin to the right without a pilot.
