The point is that some people (including me) would like to see a bit more realism in that shooting a grenade at someone a few feet away should not be survivable by the shooter; even better if the grenade would not explode at all at short distances (as in real life). I'm not looking for America's Army realism so don't give me that tired comeback, just a bit more realism in weapon effects.
DICE has stated in the interview that GLs are currently NOT being used as they intended so expect that they will be changed somehow.

There's not really enough time for chitchat in bf2, as there is in CS where you have to wait untill the end of the round if you die. In bf-games people "come and go" all the time.
Another thing DICE should focus on is the menu. Just gut it, and do something like counterstrike source. Minimal, fast and WORKS.

      The BF2 menu/game browser is ugly/slow/broken.
I agree, this has been a problem for all the BF games so far. In bf2 the menus and UI has gone more towards to functionality (hey, no more resolution switching :)) but still it's far from the functionality of CS:S/Steam. But on the otherhand, Dice managed to cripple such a basic thing as an ingame serverbrowser into total trash with BF2, even when compared to the old Bf games.

I wish that for the next BF game, they'd hire someone who actually PLAYS the game to do, or at least to design, the menusystem for the game. Or why not copy as much as possible from Steams UI :)

To me, this seems to be the problem with DICE, they simply don't play BF2 on public servers at all. They probably have these private matches with their gametesters and they're like

DICE: "Let's not bunnyhop at all, ok little darlings?"
      Testers: "Roger!"
DICE: "Hey, let's not even baserape, mmkay? It's no fun!"
      Testers: "Roger that!"

Best solution for bunnyhopping would be to increase the damage OR accuracy for all the handguns. It still happends to me in almost every another round that two guys empty their assault rifle clips (on close range) to each other but they're both still alive and doing the Riverdance.

Like someone said, bunnyhopping was never a problem in BF:Vietnam and I agree with that. That was because the weapons did a proper amount of damage to the victim so he couldn't "dodge" the bullets that long as you can in bf2. That's why so many people resort to GL these days. Why bother shooting on closecombat when you can with 1 GL shot to actually KILL the opponent? If something was done right in BF:V, it was definetly the weapon damage.

If DICE would've played the game, they sure as **** would've noticed the bunnyhopping, dolphindiving, gl-hopping and NOT included these rather gay features to their FPS game. And now when they "listen to the community", that means that they'll have the much hated bunnyhopping removed within next 5 months with their 350mb patch, if we (the players) are lucky...

edit: and another thing.. why you can "turn around" in midair when jumping? I mean you can alter your jump direction when you're in air like in super ****ing mario..

To those of you who say "Whatever the solution costs, put it IN!":

It's NOT a solution to bunny hopping to evade fire!!!!! You will, from the sounds of it, STILL be able to bunny hop your ass off for as long as you want. Only now, you'll need to land before firing. That guy bunny hopping to avoid fire 100 yards away will still get away without a scratch.

The only things this change prevents:
        "Throwing" C4
        *possibly* throwing Grenades/grappling hooks
Throwing Med packs/ammo packs/mines/c4 onto the floor above you
        Simultaneous jumping and nade launching

Again, this does NOTHING to prevent the defensive tactic of bunny hopping, STOP THINKING IT DOES!

Yes actually, you can. You can't jump as high as you do in BF2, but it's fully possible to change your facing while in the air. Ya just gotta twist right.

          Watch some gymnasicts sometime.

That said, it's not possible to change your direction while in mid-air... but you can't do that in BF2 either.

Yes, you can change facing in rl, but you cant start "strafing" while you are in air like you can in BF2.

But if they can't shoot then you go prone and unload on them...

There might still be some bunny hoppers after the patch but they will be dead bunnys!
