First of all, there are some changes that I believe will make the game more enjoyable. Namely, I think that the reduction in airpower, though disadvantageous for me as a pilot hoe, will be good for the overall game. I can't count the number of rounds I've been accused of hacking after going 70-2 in a jet.
The disabling of constant, repeated dolphin diving is an OK change, but I don't really see much of this online. I don't think it will make a huge impact, but this change doesen't hurt the game, as long as you can still jump-dive behind something to take cover.
However, now we're going to tread into negative territory.
The problem they are addressing is not the problem that we have on online servers!!! The problem they say they are addressing is bunnyhopping...but nowhere is bunny hopping actually on the slate to be fixed!
The problem is deifnitely bunny hopping(constantly sprint/jump comboing to travel faster than if you just sprinted till your boost was gone, and the ability [b]to continue doing this with 0 stamina), combined with primarily the M203 as a jump weapon.
The C4 problem mentioned has nothing to do with being able to throw C4, and everything to do with being able to detonate it a hundreth of a second after you threw it.
For virtually every other situation where someone might be "exploiting" by jump-shooting, there is a very effective balance already in place called accuracy. Jump shots in 1.12 and lower were possible, but were so badly innacurate that it's a written death warrant usually. I'd invite anybody to come to the Krackhouse servers and I'll fight you gun on gun...you jump around, and I stay kneeling, and we'll see who dies first.
So to fix these combos, here is what they've disabled:
Their "solution" to bunny hopping removes functionality for those seemingly small things, which might be OK if it actually solved the problem, but from the word on the patch, bunnyhopping in and of itself is not addressed at all. I will still be able to avoid all this fire because I can just sprint/jump, regardless of stamina.
I really don't get this patch...there's some OK stuff, but all these random unthinking pub-noobs think their game is going to be so pimp now that bunny hopping is done away with...its just not the case.

Armando: This is a controversial solution to the problem of “bunny hopping”. First, let me state that it was never intended that the user abuse the ability to fire their guns while jumping. Unfortunately, there are undesirable repercussions to allowing this. What we have done is treated the jump like we do the sprint. If the user initiates the jump, he simply cannot shoot while he’s in the air. This approach was decided upon because it makes jumping an unsavory action during a fire fight. Yes, you can still shoot to avoid being shot at, but you cannot return fire.
Many have asked why a stamina system was not implemented. The simple answer is that a stamina system would severely limit your ability to defend yourself or get out of harms way when you needed most to do so. We could have still allowed a minimal jump height, but then the entire purpose of the fix would be defeated since players could still jump and shoot.

Armando: Since you cannot fire while jumping, it is no longer possible to “chuck” C4. However, we have not changed how quickly you can switch from the explosive to the detonator. This has limited what can be done with the C4 in terms of usage outside its designed intent.

- Ability to jump and throw a med kit or ammo pack up a level from where you are(i.e., buddy is on 2nd floor and needs health, you run over and toss health up instead of having to enter the building and go all the way up.
- Ability to jump and toss C4 into a higher level than where you are to clear an area.(The problem with C4 isn't that you can throw it, its that you can blow it up 1/10th of a second after you throw it and not get damaged--Thanks BF2-enhance)
- You cannot throw mines up a level
- You cannot "Jump throw" smoke, flash, or frag grenades to increase the distance you can throw them.
- Presumably, you will no longer be able to jump and throw your grappling hook to get it on taller buildings that you could not otherwise reach with it
