Especially if your video card is asking for a bare minimum of 300w and you are running two cd/dvd/cdr drives, two harddrives, 3-4 cooling fans and other goodies. Each one of those components takes juice to run, and if you don't have enough to go around, your comp will be a bit slower than normal. Not to mention, alot of power supplies sometimes only put out around 80% of what they state on the box for juice.

Personally, with todays video cards, I don't know why anyone would by anything less than at least 450w or more in a ps from a solid manufacturer.
well said ,i been trying to convey that msg but its hard to get through,i mearly give it as a soultion.i no some ppl will be fine but quite a few wont.

and then they shame you for aving a low rank in game and in forum.
shame really advice should not be recived and then disraspect the person who gives it to you.

thanks for explaining what i said a little better than me :)

First off it has nothing to do with battle recorder. I'v been on ts talking to someone who has almost the same system as me except he had an Intel. I get done loading same time as him but hes verifies super fast.. It always takes me forever to and I have raptors..

Yeah it really sucks and is annoying, I think I might switch out my hard drives, because my second has windows on it and has more space anyway and if that doesn't work I'll get the same hard drive as my friends because his verifies in seconds.

          Re: Verifying Client Data Fix

It is very weird, indeed. Some servers take a few minutes to verify, while others verify almost instantaneously. I forget the name of a german warlord 24/7 server that I usually play on, but it verifies practically right after all the loading is done. Pretty good ping too despite the fact that I live in the States.

ok, verifying data from MY EXPERIENCE IS ENTIRELY SERVER SIDE!

there is a server called portal of destruction that ALWAYS VERIFIES INSTANTLY, AS FAST OR FASTER THAN SINGLEPLAYER.

and the higher your settings, the longer verifying takes, ive confirmed it.

yea, verify client data still takes forever even after the punk buster update

yea, and you only have 1 Gb of RAM, and a 7200 RPM hard drive. BF2 needs 1.5 Gb of RAM to run at its fastest, including the verify process. A punkbuster update doesn't have squat to do with the "verifying client data" process, because it's not punkbuster running the check......... It's BF2 itself running an MD5 check on the game files.

                        More RAM (1.5 Gb+) helps.
Faster hard disk helps. (10,000 RPM)
Defragging your drive, and maintaining at least 15% free space will help.
Having a blazing fast processor isn't necessary.

                        10,000 RPM Raptor
                        25 seconds to verify

First, did you read this whole thread before you posted that?

Two, if you did, ignore 'First' and move on to Three

Three, are you positive Content Check was running on that server. If you saw a Penguin or a 64 next to the name and no green monitor icon, then you still didn't read the whole thread and the server was not running Content Check which gave you the impression that you had a five second verify.

It doesn't matter how many people are in the server or the amount of ram. I tested it with 512ram, on a server with a ping of 114 with battlerecorder, average time was approx 2mins. Same ram, same ping, full server without batlerecorder, 10secs on average. I think thats it, all Dice needs to do is figure out why, and do we really need recorders running on the servers?
Could be it...In some random servers I just verify in mere seconds, while on other random servers it can take up to 45s.
