No, it can be used for a couple of things. You can use it as smoke cover that, if anyone's not careful enough, with get dizzy from it. You can use it on tanks if you have no rockets, as the gas will work on them 2, this will allow you to more safely get away from them. Or, if there's a spawn your taking over, just gas the area around you, no one will see you and you already know where the people will enter from. Also, if they spawn in the same room as you, they get gases which makes for an easy kill.

Trust me, the affect will mess you up (it is pretty trippy though). The dizzyness will make you miss anythingt you try to hit.

I'm not sure about this, but I think they do things like that in the army to get the soldiers use to the affects well they are safe so that they know what the affects would be if they got hit when they were in war....

Police training academies do the same thing. They expose their trainees to pepper spray and tear gas to teach them what it can do and how to best recover from it. Just about everybody carries pepper spray these days in cities, and in riots it's very easy to come under your own tear gas. Takes one wrong bump and that mask can come off.

The thing that the gas chamber teaches soldiers is how to control panic.
