they can still kill you while their vision is distorted, spray and pray, DICE should've made it to where accuracy is affected as well as speed and vision otherwise it's not 100% effective like the flashbang

tear gas is awesome! It is both somthing that blinds people like a flashgbang but also is VERY effective as smoke cover.

If used the right way in a good squad theres nothing quite like it. Say you want to storm a room.

Support fires in a tear gas nade you all don your gas masks and move in.....

I don't see it used as much as it should -- the few times it's been used against me have been very effective. Usually I've been capping a flag and some guy I didn't even see fired it right at my position -- no time to put on your mask at all.

I also find the effects much more disorienting than the flashbang.

Better than flashbang. Makes everything fuzzy in Sf. Fire the way the grenade laucher should. Available only to the support kit. The gun look funny. I like firing it all day long.

Don't forget throwing up. In real life you throw up plus all the stuff you said. I forget whitch people put their troops through the teargas to get them used to it. It's either Army or Marine Corps. Or is it all?

Hmm, i dunno about throwing up... my personal experience (in real life) was it made my snot glads go into overdrive... like slowly pouring outta my nose... and my eyes were kaining, real bad... It make you wanna rub your eyes which makes it worse... Also, the airbourne crystals (like fine dust on a windy day) lands in your hair.. so when you have a shower later it all runs back into your eyes!

Not very nice, it effects everyone differently, some of the people I was with were much worse.. like almost temp. blinded.

This was UK CS Gas so I dunno if this is different.

In the game just press "8"

Teargas can't be used in Battlefield 2 vanilla, but in SF it's pretty nasty indeed. Though normally if you react quick enough and tap your '8' you will be protected. If you react to slow you will be couching and crying for a few minutes.

Well having gone through Teargas twice in the Army (dont EVER EVER tell anybody within earshot of a drill sergeant it wasnt that bad), I can tell you that in real life you wont even have it as good as it is in BF2:SF. Your eyes tear up, your nose runs, and everything burns. I've never felt nauseous from it, mostly because my throat, lungs, face, neck, and hands were burning too bad. BDUs are actually pretty good at protecting you from it, since it's a dust and not really a gas.

It's very effective in BF2. Since a lot of people dont bother to use it, most people dont have their gas masks on at all. And you cant just run around with your mask on all the time since stamina is drained twice as fast with it on than with it off. With tear gas, you wont completely blind the enemy, but he will have a hard time seeing and aiming, and his stamina is effectively 0, meaning he cant even run away that fast. With flashbangs, if you know where you are, you can at least make an attempt to get the hell out of dodge.

Best moment I can think of where I used it was Mass Destruction. We were pinned on our side of the river as Spetznaz due to the Insurgents constantly firing at us from the other side. Two tear gas grenades arced over the river detonated directly in their faces and gave us enough time to make it across and wipe them out. Even if they put their masks on, they're still suffering from the initial effects, and it lasts long enough to make it useful. Flashbangs are useful at times, but since they can turn and run and at least reduce the effects, even a whiff of teargas will make them undergo the effects.

Best thing to do with them is fire teargas and a flashbang into a room, clear it out, then use the remainder of your squad's flashbangs and teargas to hold.

With Flasbangs often evrything is just bright and clear's up.
With teragas in vanilla you could have them down for minutes.

Teargas isn't bad when the Army does it. When I was in, they only had a can of it in the middle of a tent. It gagged you, and burned your eyes. Just watch out for the tree on the otherside of the exit. In the Maryland Division of Corrections they used a whole can in a small shed, that was the worst. I can't seem to find a job where they don't use it. Definatly not as bad as stuff we use called "Clearout."

The Gas Chamber (shudder) was the undoubtedly worst part of my basic training (Armor School, Ft. Knox, late 1983). The DIs brought 5 guys into the shack at a time, gave the "all clear" (the signal to take off your protective mask), and harassed each private a bit before letting them exit. I was the 5th out of 5 guys, and the DIs knew I was going Airborne after basic and AIT, so I got held in the CS a lot longer than just about everyone. I was probably only in there for a total of 5 minutes, but it seemed like 5 hours. Couldn't breathe, couldn't see, eyes and nose and throat burning like they'd been coated with lighter fluid and set alight, nose running like a faucet. It, in a word, sucked.

After my group had exited and had been sitting around recovering for a while, this black guy named Golden went into the latrines. A minute or so later, we all heard this bloodcurdling shriek and poor Golden came hauling ass out of the latrine, pants around his ankles, clutching his crotch and screaming "Don't piiiissss!! Doooonnnn't piiiiiiissssssss!!!!" He'd had the CS dust all over his hands when he went to take a leak, and that nasty stuff got onto his sensitive bits. He told me later that it felt like his johnson was being deepfried. It was hilarious at the time, but I felt sorry for the poor guy later.

I had another CS experience later in my tour, while stationed in Germany. A buddy named Mike (who had a huge Jamie Farr-caliber nose) and I were in a hard rock club in Nürnberg called The Green Goose. We were sitting in a booth on a Friday night, drinking beer and checking out the local pelt when suddenly Mike said "Oh hell, we've gotta get out of here now!" I asked why and he said "It's CS, man! Let's go!!!" I smelled nothing, but I trusted him (I was gun shy about CS) so we got out fast and just in time. Apparently somebody had stolen a CS grenade and popped it in the middle of the crowded club. Thanks to Mike's prodigious nasal capacity, we missed all but the most mild effects. But as we watched from the street, scores of panicked people came trampling up the stairs screaming and crying, choking and hacking, snot running from their noses like water, retching and puking all over the place. From our vantage point, it was pretty damned funny. From theirs, it was probably a small taste of hell.

CS is no fun (unless you're on the outside looking in).

When people tear gas or flashbang me I fire in circles until it kills something or I gain my vision back.
